• Bou Inania Madrasa - Just a 2-minute walk from the Blue Gate, we will visit the Bou Inania Madrasa in Fes, Morocco. Founded between 1351 and 1356 by Abu Inan Faris, it is celebrated as a prime example of Marinid architecture.
• Al-Attarine Madrasa - Located near Al-Qarawiyyin in Fes, Morocco, the Al-Attarine Madrasa was built by Marinid Sultan Uthman II Abu Said between 1323 and 1325. It is named after the nearby Souk al-Attarine, the spice and perfume market.
• Museo Nejjarine - Housed in a beautifully restored early-18th-century funduq, this museum features fine woodwork from across Morocco, including doors, prayer beads, and musical instruments. The exhibits highlight the differences between Amazigh traditional styles and Andalusian designs of Fez. A notable display includes worn wooden boards used by Quranic recitation students, patched with copper and adorned with graduation certificates. The rooftop cafe offers simple fare and great views over the medina.
• Mosque and University Kairaouine - The University of al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco, is recognized by UNESCO and Guinness World Records as the oldest continuously operating higher educational institution in the world. It is sometimes referred to as the oldest university by scholars.
• Place Seffarine - One of the busiest stops on the guided-tour circuit, Place Seffarine is known for its copperware craftsmen. The square is filled with the sounds of coppersmiths shaping and polishing various items like pots, cauldrons, plates, and buckets. It’s best enjoyed while sipping mint tea at Cremerie la Place in the northeast corner of the square.
• Sahrij Medersa - Fez is renowned for its mystery, culture, and hidden architectural treasures. Unlike other Moroccan cities that have modernized for tourism, Fez has preserved its traditions, making it a gem of mosques, high walls, and narrow passageways. The Sahrij Medersa is a popular attraction among tourists.
• Chouara Tannery - One of the three tanneries in Fez, Morocco, Chouara Tannery was built in the 11th century and is the largest in the city. It is located in Fes el Bali, the oldest medina quarter, near the Saffarin Madrasa along the river.
• Cherratin Medersa - At first glance, the Cherratin Medersa appears similar to other madrassas in Fes. Inside, there is a large courtyard with a fountain and three upper floors housing over 200 student rooms.
• Place R’cif - This will be our last stop, where you can enjoy tea or lunch before we drop you off.
