Amazing guy with a strong knowledge of Fez - We went for Fez and booked this half a day guide… he showed us so many nice things and knows what he’s talking about… finally I felt like no one is bothering me and pushing to buy something because I had a perfect guide that is the opposite of all the rest… If you ever think about booking a trip, this one is the best I ever had. Really a great recommendation!!! In short terms, friendly, kind, not pushing, not here for selling things, good information, correct price!

Great walking tour - After three days in Marrakesh we were a bit oversouked! So for Fez we looked for a compact culture tour and got what we wanted! A well-paced tour by Mr. Abdul, a gentleman close to our age, held a lot of photo ops and the bits of information for us made a great total of the historic role of Fez. We were met at our riad, and the walking-tour started right there – close to three hours up to the famous Bab Boujeloud. As we were ready for a break from Moroccan food – Culture Box was a smart lunch suggestion.

Highlight in Fes Guided Tour with Farida - We were looking for a short-term guide for a Medina tour in Fez - in German! Through Abdil we came to Farida and we immediately took her into our hearts. A very nice young woman with perfect German led us through the medina. She felt she knew all the people in the souk and showed us everything. From the bakery to the coppermakers, bronze working, weaving, dyeing, tanning, matrissa, mausoleum, squares and much more. We got a lot of information, had an incredible time. She brought us very close to Fes. With her, visiting the city was an absolute highlight. We can highly recommend Farida. We were also lucky to have been alone with her.

Very authentic experience - The tour with Omar was very authentic and you soon realise that Omar is located in Fès, as he knows many people and they know him. He shower us many places, especially inside the houses in Medina, we would never have seen without him. He also showed us shops of local artists to buy high-quality handicraft if you‘re into it. Although we booked the tour on very short term, everything worked out and the communication with the guide was smooth.

A must in Fes! - Adil was a wonderful guide. He took us to all points of interest in Fes while explaining important cultural and historical aspects of the city. He was kind and respectful and speaks many languages, always making sure you are comfortable and safe. The tour covered all of the points described and is a great way to get to know Fes! Definitely recommended.

A real dive into the heart of the medina - While we were in the middle of Ramadan and many things were closed, our guide Sqali Houssaini Mohammed gave my daughter and me a great day in the medina. He was very considerate, waited for us, took us to unusual places, and never pushed us to drink. He was always smiling and attentive to our safety! Thanks to him for this beautiful private immersion in the city.

Disappointing tour of shops when we wanted to see the city - Adil is a very nice man, very polite and knowledgeable about the city. However, we told him we wanted to see the tanneries and the pottery studios before we booked the tour and he promised we would. When we met up, he again promised he would take us to the tanneries and potteries. Instead, he took us to a couple of museums and the tannery, which was fine, but the pressure to buy was really, really frustrating and frankly manipulative. My friend, who is a softie, was thinking about buying a leather jacket but the price was tenfold out of her budget. Both Adil and the sales guy pressured her non-stop to buy it. They promised to customize it to fit her perfectly but I helped her stand her ground. The moment I sat down to rest they pounced on her again and she said she felt forced to buy the very expensive jacket (1 month’s rent)! It was too late when I found out and they were going to deliver the customized jacket that night. When we left I asked again about the pottery but Adil insisted we go to a cactus silk shop for a demo, no pressure to buy, he said, but that it was for a demo. The sales guy there however had a different idea and was non-stop hammering us to buy, buy, buy, buy. Support the artisans, he said. He was in our faces and my friend was still reeling about her forced purchase at the tannery. After that I asked again about the pottery but Adil had different ideas, wanted to take us to the rug shop. We said no. He took us to the smallest street, and then to a bronze shop where we were again pressured non-stop to buy buy buy. It was exhausting and manipulative and a horrible experience. We were both so tired and relieved that we had reservations at the Hammam so the tour had to end. Adil said he would take us to the pottery after the hammam, but at that point, I was tired of him and did not trust him. When we got back to our Riad, they delivered the jacket and it didn’t fit my friend. The stitching was also crooked. It was not a quality jacket like the one she had tried on in the shop. The sales guy stayed and haggled with us for over an hour trying to get her to keep the jacket promising to fix it in various ways, including giving her back a large chunk of money. We wasted so much time with this sales guy from the tannery and he was incredibly manipulative playing mind games with us trying to make us feel bad. The whole experience was exhausting and uncomfortable and pretty much made us hate our time in Fes. We wanted a tour of the city and to see specific things but instead we were taken on a shopping trip. And the prices were not good - everything was very expensive. Truly disappointing. We thought getting a local guide would save us from the trickery we heard of in Morocco but instead we paid for the exact thing we were trying to avoid.

Disappointing experience - We booked this tour based on the positive reviews, but it was a disappointing and unpleasant experience. The guide clearly knows the Medina and was polite, including when we texted to say we would be 15min late. He showed us a few interesting places, but rushed us through everything, leaving us behind twice. The actual goal of the tour was to stop at several shops to make us buy items. Everything was rehearsed and vendors were pushy, insisting even when we said we didn't want certain products. I know this is part of the process here and in many other places, as I'm originally from South America, but this was a bit too much. By the third shop, we were so uncomfortable and upset that we decided to give up the time we paid for, asking to return to the hotel. After our request to end the tour there, he still took us to the rug shop. If he had asked us, we would probably have said that we wanted to see some shops (like the tannery), without the imposition. The tour description is misleading; it was only about an hour of walking around without being forced to sit down at shops and buy things. Really disappointing and disrespectful. I want to advise other travellers: if you are looking for a shopping experience, this tour is for you. If not, don't book it.
