Merzouga Desert - Our private tour begins with a drive towards the Atlas Mountains stopping to visit the village Ifrane, where we’ll get a chance to explore the famous cedar forest, home to the Berber apes. We’ll then continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and the Ziz Gorge (here we can stop for pictures and some local mint tea) to Midelt.

Our drive proceeds across the Ziz Valley, Erfoud, and Rissani; an oasis. Once we arrive at the Erg Chebbi desert dunes, we’ll trade in the 4x4 for camels (optional) and ride towards our desert camp. Upon arrival there we’ll be served a complimentary traditional dinner, and enjoy some music around a campfire under the star and moonlit desert sky.

After breakfast in your riad, you will leave Fes travelling towards Ifran, a beautiful mountains village, referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Morocco’ and then on to Midelt. During this journey, you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest - the largest in Morocco - where you may well sight Barbary apes. After sometime within the forest, your journey continues to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas, after Midelt town you will be traveling through the fascinating Tizi Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau, you’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia,. Afterward, you will travel along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani.
