Ifrane - The adventure from Fes starts with a drive through Ifrane, a winter ski resort established by the French in the 1930s, designed to resemble a charming Swiss village.
Azrou Cedar Forest - Continue the journey through the cedar forest in Azrou, where monkeys can be spotted, and then cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. The day will be largely spent traveling through beautiful forests, springs, rugged rock formations, and Berber villages as the Atlas Mountains are crossed, leading towards the Sahara Desert.
Midelt - A lunch break is scheduled in Midelt, a town famous for its fossils and rocks. Afterward, the journey continues towards Merzouga along the road.
Merzouga - Stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the expansive oasis filled with palm trees before reaching Merzouga in the afternoon. After a refreshing mint tea break, the guide and camels will be ready to take travelers across the sandy dunes of the erg-Chebbi. Enjoy the beauty of the sunset during the camel ride, and after an hour, arrive at the desert camp to spend the night in a traditional Berber tent. At the desert camp, camels are secured, and mint tea is served. The evening concludes with a delicious dinner, and under the desert sky, stargazing leads to a restful sleep.
From Merzouga to Ouarzazate
Todgha Gorge - Rise early to witness the sunrise if desired. Begin the journey to Ouarzazate after a delightful breakfast, traveling along the challenging Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. These kasbahs stand like turreted sand castles along the ancient caravan trading route. Known for its cinematic appeal, this area has been a popular location for Hollywood films, including The Last Temptation of Christ, Jewel of the Nile, and more recently, Hideous Kinky. The central region, surrounded by lush river valleys, palmeries, and vibrant mud-brick homes, creates an exhilarating and romantic scene under the clear desert sky. Pause for a leisurely lunch before exploring the captivating Todra Gorge. Continue the journey through the enchanting Dades Gorge, passing the stunning cliffs.
El Kelaa M’gouna - Pass by the capital of roses, which produces roses every May and celebrates annually, awarding a prize to the most beautiful girl each year.
Ouarzazate - Arrive in Ouarzazate to relax at the hotel, which features a swimming pool, and enjoy dinner.
From Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Tizi n Tichka
Ouarzazate - Enjoy a delightful breakfast before exploring Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the famous Atlas Studios, the largest and most renowned in Africa. Proceed to Ait Ben Haddou, arriving in time for lunch. Here, explore the iconic Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in notable films such as The Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia.
Marrakech - Cross the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, traveling a road that rises from the plains to 2260m above sea level. Journey through charming villages, picturesque waterfalls, and a landscape that unfolds in a kaleidoscope of colors amid the stunning mountains. As the day ends, return to the hotel or riad in Marrakech.
