View the mountain, taste the chocolate and move away from the cheese. - We took a drive to Appenzell and to Mt. Santis for a view of the mountains and some residual snow. Beautiful scenery that is worth the drive. We had lunch in a local Swiss restaurant that is owned and operated by fiesty lady who cooked good food. The chocolate factory tour was informative and a delight for all the samples available but the production line was shutdown during our tour. We did our purchase of chocolates here. The cheese factory tour could be more engaging. The samples were given in a small box with the explanation of the age from left to right. We were given small bags to bring home some herbs. What is the connection with cheese?!?!

Great Day Trip! - Martin picked us up on time, and we were off. My kids (9 and 11) LOVED the chocolate factory. Mt. Santis was amazing. We had a wonderful fondue lunch at the cheese factory. Martin even added stops for local cherries and a neighborhood zoo we walked through. He provided water and a reminder to bring a jacket for the mountain top. Glad we booked!

A private tour that will make you fall in love with Switzerland - Pinch me please... This tour was absolutely beautiful. Martin was an amazing tour guide and so helpful for us since he speaks great English. Transportation was comfortable and the views were spectacular with the route he drives. If you are looking at this tour and contemplating, just do it. It will be worth it and at the end you will say, "I am so glad I went on this tour".

Better experience - We booked this Tour to Appenzell and it was impressive. Our guide Martin was very kind and he showed us great places, we would not find by ourselves. The chocolate factory tour was interesting with lots of stations where they explain how the chocolate is made and you can watch also the production. Additional you can make your own chocolate bar and make fancy creations. Tasting samples was also part of the tour and was delicious. The cheese factory tour showed us how these produce the famous Swiss cheese and we could also taste the cheese from mild to strong flavor. The highlight was the Mountain Santis, where you have a great view all over the Swiss alps. We enjoyed this tour a lot and would definitely recommend it.
