A most worthwhile tour! - My husband and I are not really tour people, however our guide, Stijn, gave us an outstanding tour (and has given us a new appreciation of guided tours!) We arrived in Flåm via shuttle, and he was there to make sure people knew where to go. One of our fellow tourists had some difficulty walking, and Stijn offered to bring the van to pick him up. At the viewpoint Stegastein, he commented that at a few of our stops, the restrooms (WC) might not be open, and gave us the suggestion that we might want to take advantage of them when we can (ladies, bring tissue, as the public rest stops might not have any!) Also at Stegastein, Stijn offered to take our photos with the spectacular view as a backdrop. Though the mini bus is very comfortable, the 2nd stop on the Snowy Road is windy and cold—bring a jacket! In Laerdal, a charming small village in the midst of stunning scenery, we had about an hour to buy lunch. Most of us took Stijn’s recommendation and headed to the bakery and to walk around the old village. Last, we came to the Borgund Stave Church, and Stijn shared many interesting details about its construction and use. All throughout the day, he shared interesting facts about Norwegian wildlife, nature and culture. In addition to speaking 5 languages (he’s Dutch!), he is very knowledgeable and studied about plants and the geological history (formation of the fjords) of the region. Stijn also shared several misconceptions about the Vikings, as promoted by the films or historians who didn’t agree with the Viking’s religious beliefs—very interesting! Nils, our driver, must be commended for smoothly navigating the narrow roads and for providing humor and interesting comments on the way. My husband and I were so impressed with Stijn! We cannot believe how much we learned today! We highly recommend the tour for views of the countryside and to enjoy this personable guide! 5⭐️+++!!!

Fabulous chance to see the different landscapes, wander the houses (and the bakery) at Laerdal, and wonder at the church - I loved the different landscapes, the fjord from above, the cloud patterns and the starkness of the Snowy Road. Yes, we spotted a lemming! Laerdal was a lovely place to wander (with a great bakery, recommend the cardamom bun). It is a shame that the trip doesn't include going inside the stave church at Borgund, but it is a magnificent sight.

Great one day trip - The trip was great. The bus was on the provided location waiting for us and the departure was on time. We got interesting details among the road from our tour guide and time for photos on each stop. I recommend it if you like to explore more in a single visit and no worry how to get there.
