• Luminous Lagoon Martha Brea River SUP - Upon reaching the Lagoon, visitors will be warmly welcomed by a professional and friendly staff member, who will offer a complimentary drink before they board the boat. The captain will then set off on a brief 5-minute boat ride, during which he will explain the unique phenomenon of the Lagoon. Once a suitable location is found, he will anchor the boat, allowing visitors to enjoy a swim for a few minutes. Afterward, the captain will return to the dock, where visitors can disembark.

Prepare for a boat ride that’s all about experiencing living treasures! Embark on a journey to the Luminous Lagoon, where the water comes to life after dark. This is no ordinary sunset cruise; as the stars appear, something truly enchanting happens beneath the waves.

Millions of tiny creatures, known as dinoflagellates (try saying that five times fast!), inhabit these waters where the Martha Brae River meets the Caribbean Sea. When they are disturbed – by our boat or, even better, by you splashing around – they illuminate! Imagine an eerie, shimmering, electric blue-green glow that seems straight out of a fantasy film.

As we glide along, you’ll witness the boat’s wake leaving a sparkling trail. Splash some water, and watch it explode in a burst of light. For the truly adventurous, you can even dive in for a swim and become a glowing marvel yourself!
