• Piazza del Duomo - The Cupola, designed and constructed by Filippo Brunelleschi, features narrow corridors for the ascent and descent. These corridors were originally intended for the cathedral’s maintenance workers and were not designed for public access. Inside the dome, you can closely admire Giorgio Vasari’s frescoes of the Last Judgment (1572-9) with detailed explanations as you ascend. Looking down, just above the drum, you’ll notice Baccio D’Angelo’s unfinished balcony from 1507, with seven of the eight sides still in rough brick. Upon reaching the top of the Cupola, you’ll be captivated by the stunning panoramic view of Florence. After visiting the Cupola with your pre-reserved timed ticket, you can also explore the interior of the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Santa Reparata, and climb Giotto’s Bell Tower at your leisure.

• Umbrellas, canes (when not used to assist walking), tripods for cameras, and film cameras are not permitted inside the Dome
• Knives, scissors, and metal tools that could be dangerous for people and the exhibited works are not permitted inside the Dome

• With your timed-reserved tickets, you can climb the Cupola Dome 30 minutes after the guided tour ends
