The best tour for our family of five on our Italy trip, which we would recommend for anyone - I want to start by saying that I had low expectations for this tour. Making pizza and gelato in Italy just sounded so incredibly touristy. My wife does all our trip planning and never let us down and definitely this was a highlight of our trip to Italy. The chef and his team are warm and welcoming and funny and flexible. They invited us in to their space, which is beautiful and set up perfectly for classes of the size they are working with. It’s a working commercial grade kitchen area. Our children, ages 9, 12, and 15, enjoyed the class while also learning cooking techniques and the history of these dishes. Our group included an extended family (also from the US) whom we didn’t know. Interestingly, and perhaps unsurprisingly, they were our type of people and we got along great with them during the class portion. After all the prep work is done, and the pizzas are baking, and the gelato is in the machine, the group goes out to a long dining table and shares drinks together. Then everyone enjoys pizzaand more drinks, followed by two courses of dessert. Knowing that you helped make the food you were eating really adds to the experience. I am not exaggerating at all when I say this is a highly recommended experience for families with children ages nine and up. The value for what you spend and the experience you get is unmatched.

Cooking Class for Studying Abroad - The class was awesome and very experimental. It was very hands on learning and I enjoyed every class! Not only did we learn as a class to cook, but we learned the different types of ingredients and why they are in certain meals!

Pizza and Gelato making with Florence Food Studio - This was one of the highlights of our Florence visit. We made pizza and gelato with Giorgio at Florence Food Studio. His space is amazing as well. I wish we had more time and could have done the pasta making class as well. He was a great host and teacher. The space is beautiful and a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio. Make room for this on your itinerary especially if you have kids.

Disappointed! - This was NOT a fun experience. The instructor was nice, but not engaging at all. We rolled out some dough, put on some sauce and toppings and then all the pizzas get mixed up when put in the oven so you don't even get to eat your own pizza! It was absolutely absurd. The gelato making apart was boring with the instructor just doing everything while everyone tried to get a glimpse in the crowded little kitchen. Big time disappointment. I had booked this experience because the other more highly rated experiences were sold out. If I could do it again, I would not have booked this at all, saved my money and just spent my time elsewhere.
