Galleria dell’Accademia - A knowledgeable local guide will introduce visitors to the Accademia Gallery museum, unveiling the secrets of David and other masterpieces housed within. Following this brief exploration, the guide will lead the way to the Hall of the Colossus to admire the artworks of Giambologna, Cassone Adimari, and Domenico Ghirlandaio’s majestic “St. Stephen between St. James and St. Peter.” The tour continues to the main Hall of the Prisoners, where visitors will learn about Michelangelo’s unfinished statues, the “Slaves,” and his friendships and influences with artists like Fra’ Bartolomeo and Pontormo.
Later, the guide will spend time at The Tribune, providing insights into Michelangelo’s renowned “David’s Statue” and the “Tribune Left Wing,” featuring Allori’s “Coronation of the Virgin Mary.” Finally, the guide will introduce the Gipsoteca Bartolini, showcasing plaster casts of the Reclining Venus, Arnolfo, Brunelleschi, and Lorenzo Monaco, along with the Documentation Centre on the first floor. -
