The exterior is arranged in three vertical levels and topped with a double vault comprising eight internal segments and an eight-sided prismatic roof. You can visit the Baptistery with the same ticket, exploring at your own pace without any rush.

Discover Florence Cathedral and see the city from 2 exclusive and breathtaking point of views: the terraces and Brunelleschi’s magnificent Dome. Our tour is fully guided by an official expert: don’t miss the opportunity to learn everything about the frescos you will admire from a short distance while you are climbing the Dome. Exclusive access to the terrace is reserved, not available to the general public. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to be among the first to enter, escorted by the official key-holder of the day
- A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
- Comfortable shoes suggested
- Please note the number of steps to reach the top of each monument: Terraces: 153 and Terraces + Brunelleschi’s Dome: 153 + 310
- Due to the security checks, please be informed that for the entrance to the Dome and Terraces, bulky backpacks and bags are not allowed to climb
- Children under 7 years old are not admitted
- Occasional events at the Duomo may cause slight itinerary changes
- You’ll have the opportunity to visit the other monuments of the Duomo complex on your own within 72 hours after the tour: Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Opera del Duomo Museum
- The visit to the Terraces is not included in the Private Exclusive First Access option

Breath taking views. - The views were breath taking and the tour guide was phenomenal. Wear comfortable shoes as the steps are uneven but the view is worth the climb. This tour also used headsets so I could walk around and view the sights and could still hear the tour guide.

10/10 experience! - What an amazing experience! Our guide was super knowledgeable. We had a great time learning about not only the Duomo, but about Florence in general. Even though the climb to the top is not for the faint of heart, I’d definitely recommend!

Thorough and entertaining experience - I appreciated the thorough yet entertain nature of our guides presentation of the history of the Duomo. The two and a half hours flew by, including all the steps to the top of the dome! I'd recommend this for anyone who can climb the steps.

A wonderful day! - I was lovely taking the tour with fewer people and getting to speak with our guide and ask questions. She is very knowledgeable and so nice to be with. I enjoyed the 2+ hour tour and she also explained our tickets would allow us into the Baptistry and the Bell tower for three days. I went to bother the next day! My legs are sore from the climbing. It was great exercise and the views are spectacular. I recommend it highly!

An unforgettable experience - the tour of the Cathedral was very impressive. The guide Giada was very knowledgeable and took us through the discovery of a route that was definitely touristy but thanks to the exclusive access it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. Highly suggested to get to know and appreciate Florence in its total beauty. Thank you Giada you took us on an unforgettable journey

Great but not if you don’t like heights! - Definitely read the fine print! This is a climb and can be claustrophobic too! It was really cool to be up in the dome and see the frescos up close. The view from the top outside is amazing!

Florence Duomo with Caio Florence Tours - The Duomo was beautiful but our guide was very hard to understand and rushed through the tour. When we asked where to get in line for the Duomo climb she did not know and told us to go back to the ticket office. Definitely not worth the skip the line price.
