Duomo Tour with Dome Climb Tour - In the short time I had in Firenze, I knew I wanted to see as many sights as I could - knowing I needed to sacrifice some due to only being in the city for a few days. That being said, I attempted to balance guided tours with my own explorations. I did not want to be part of a guided tour all day every day, so when one of my colleagues recommended Walkabout I inquired to see what they had to offer. I noticed that they had a 3-hour tour of the Piazza del Duomo which included a climb to the top of Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore Duomo di Firenze. This sounded perfect, so we decided to book it for our first full day in Firenze. Prior to my arrival in Firenze, I received correspondence from Walkabout with details about my tour. Via email and Whatsapp, I was given my start time as well as where to meet and who my tour guide will be. I booked a private tour, and I assume that's why they asked me where I was staying since my meeting point was about a 3-minute walk from my hotel. We met up with Lisa at the designated time, who gave us a quick rundown of the tour and shortly after that we got started. We began the tour in the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo - we spent a good amount of time here looking at each of the exhibits, and Lisa did an excellent job going through all the details and history not only of the pieces but of the history of Firenze that shaped what we saw. The museum is noteworthy that it contains many of the original artifacts of the cathedral itself (they have been replaced by replicas in order to preserve the originals). The original doors of the Baptistery are also here, as well as a scale replica of the first three stories of the Cathedral in its original form. After some time in the museum, we made our way to the Cathedral to begin the climb. It's not the easiest climb I'll admit, as it's 400+ steps and there are points in the ascent that are tight with steep steps - but I would say it's totally worth it as the views up top are magnificent. You get panoramic views of the city so my camera was constantly clicking. While the climb concluded our tour, our tickets did include access to the Bell Tower and Baptistry which were valid over the next couple of days which I thought was a nice perk. Overall my experience with Walkabout was excellent - Lisa did an awesome job guiding us through the exhibits; she's very knowledgable, engaging, and really made this tour amazing. I would have no qualms booking a tour with them next time I'm in Florence.

Phenomenal! Best tour of my trip to Italy - Phenomenal! Highly recommend this tour and tour company (1 of 3 tours I did with Walk About Tours - all great but this was my favorite). Becky was fantastic and was able to dive deeper into history / details as that was a personal interest of mine. The ability to climb the Duomo as well as enter the museum with a guide made all the difference in being able to connect important meanings behind each.

Informative and fun - I have taken many tours through a variety of vendors in my travels. This was by far our most favorite. Our guide Becky was both personable and knowledgeable. Our guide also climbed the dome with us and offered to take many pictures throughout the tour. It was such an amazing experience. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Florence.

Becky is the BEST! - We were a bit hesitant to do the over 400 stair climb to the top of the dome - but turned out the worry was all in our minds. Our guide, Becky, was so understanding and thoughtful the entire time. She was so helpful and kind with us and reassured us we could take our time. I honestly don’t think many people would’ve been as patient and kind with us as she was. Truly made this experience even better than expected. Hands down incredible tour and again - thank you Becky, we appreciate you ☺️ simply amazing!!

Breathtaking Views and Rich History at the Florence Duomo! - My wife and I along with our 3 kids (18, 16, 14) recently participated in the Florence Duomo Tour with Dome Climb, and it was an unforgettable experience! The tour was incredibly well-organized, and Becky, our guide was both knowledgeable and engaging, providing fascinating insights into the history and architecture of the Duomo. The highlight of the tour was definitely the dome climb. The ascent was a bit challenging, with narrow staircases and quite a few steps, but it was absolutely worth it. Reaching the top, we were rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Florence. Seeing the city from this vantage point was truly breathtaking and offered a unique perspective that you can't get anywhere else. While we were experiencing the beautiful view, Becky took the time to take family pictures for us and gave us recommendations on where to take in a sunset view of the city, as well as other highlights not to miss out on. Once we entered the cathedral, Becky explained the intricate details of the frescoes, which adorn the interior of the dome. The artwork was magnificent and hearing about the stories and techniques behind them added so much depth to the experience. We got lost in Becky's story telling and found ourselves back in time in Florence with the ideas of visionaries - it was absolutely amazing. Booking the tour was straightforward, and the meeting point was easy to find. The entire process, from start to finish, was smooth and well-managed. I appreciated how Becky personalized the tour for the kids, making it engaging, and interesting. Overall, I highly recommend the Florence Duomo Tour with Dome Climb. It’s a must-do when in Florence, providing a perfect blend of physical activity, historical education, and awe-inspiring views. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to explore one of Florence’s most iconic landmarks!

Incredible Duomo - This was one worth the money trip. Our local guide, Becky from Walkabout tours was not just knowledgeable but also very friendly and patient. She contacted us couple of days before the tour giving us all the details of meeting point and contact information in case of any questions. She also informed us of some local events because of which she suggested starting our tour 30 minutes before the scheduled time. This turned out to be very advantageous as we were up there early beating both the heat and the crowd. The climb up was intimidating and humbling. The view from the top was incredible and it was worth the effort. The tour of the museum was very informative and enjoyable. Becky gave us just the right amount of information and also gave the interpretation of the art work there! We spent more time in the museum after the end of the tour. Overall very good experience. Highly recommend it. I must add that the experience was because of the Walkabout Tours.

Enjoyable and informative - Becky was a wonderful guide. We met right outside the Duomo. She gave us the history before entering the museum so we knew what we were seeing. She then elaborated and pointed out things once inside. When we reached the top of the Dome, which was well worth the climb, Becky gave us time to walk around on our own and take in the breath taking views. She took pictures for us and then pointed out the churches, squares, Synagogue, and other areas that we should explore on our own over the next few days and told the history behind those points of interest. Felt as if we were touring with a good friend who was a history buff. Becky’s in depth knowledge and enthusiasm made our tour that much more informative and enjoyable. Definitely a 5 star experience. Well worth the price and time. This is a must do while in Florence.
