Andrea will guide you step by step in creating your own painting, featuring the iconic symbol of Florence: the Florentine lily!

The session will start with Andrea explaining the origins of the painting techniques and materials that will be used. Then, you’ll dive right into the creative process!

First, you’ll use a small prop to carve the shape of the lily onto your canvas, trace the shape using the dusting technique, and connect the dots with a pencil to form the image.

Next, you’ll apply the traditional gilding technique, which involves placing a gold foil on your painting and removing it only within the edges of the lily design, resulting in a stunning gold background.

Finally, you’ll paint your lily in the color of your choice using the tempera painting technique. And voila! Your personal painting of the Florentine lily on a golden background is complete, ready to take home as a souvenir or to gift to friends and family.
