The tour starts from the Ponte Vecchio and along the Arno you come to an ancient and secret staircase. From here you go up to Piazzale Michelangelo, the terrace that reveals a unique view of the Renaissance city. Piazzale Michelangelo was built in the nineteenth century as a tribute to the creativity of the great Florentine sculptor Michelangelo Buonarroti. At the centre of the large square stand the nineteenth-century reproductions of the most important sculptural works of the immense Genius, including the famous David.
