Additional Information

The Palazzo Vecchio is a renowned and significant emblem of Florence, exemplifying the magnificence of medieval civil architecture. Upon touring this palace, the exquisite Salone dei Cinquecento will come into view, a grand hall spanning 54 meters in length and 23 meters in width. It was constructed in just seven months by Simone del Pollaiolo, at the behest of Girolamo Savonarola. Following his ascension as Duke, Cosimo I de Medici made Palazzo Vecchio his abode, using the Salone dei Cinquecento as an audience chamber to meet ambassadors and citizens. The Hall’s ceiling is adorned with a series of paintings lauding the life of Cosimo I. There are also statues personifying the ‘Labors of Hercules’, with Vasari frescoes garnishing the walls to illustrate Cosimo’s accomplishments. Palazzo dei Priori, initially named thus, underwent a change and was christened as Palazzo della Signoria in the 15th century.

Worked great for us! - Product as advertised. Met a friendly employee who spoke English. He checked our reference number then guided us to the entrance. He pointed out the book store and the bathroom, then handed us the tickets. We were free to used the facilities with our ticket, then we had a lovely time with a self-guided tour. Be aware that if you want an audio guide, you should probably book it in advance, there were none available the day of.

Palazzo Vechio - Truly stunning interiors. A must see amongst so many choices. After Uffizi and Accademia, Palazzo Vechio comes in a close third.

Avoid soldout disappointment - It was amazing to book in advance otherwise it was soldout on the day of visit. The line at the counter was huge people were waiting outside the door to get tickets. Our host already had our tickets and took us directly to the entrance point. Recommended if you want to avoid sold out disappointment.

definitely worth seeing - Definitely worth seeing, a Renaissance marvel. I can't say much more than that, I was deeply impressed. I think the 9 Euro entrance fee is practically a gift.

Can do better - Too expensive compared to the price of entry Because the contact with the person was brief: The deposit for bags and showing the entrance...

Buyer Beware - a big rip off - Caveat emptor. Buyer beware. Read the details. We thought we were buying a tour that included access to the clock tower which seemed like a reasonable expectation for the price after paying the same for a tour of the cathedral. However, this was simply paying twice the entry fee for ‘skip the line” access to the building with no access to the clock tower. And there wasn’t even a line to skip. Plus they were setting up the big room for an event so we were blocked from seeing half of it. A big rip off. Our bad for even purchasing these tickets.

Disappointed - I would recommend booking in advance and not with this company, turned up and just pointed us in the direction to go. Also the tickets are cheaper if you book direct and the line to buy tickets is not that long.
