Michelangelo was in his early twenties when he sculpted ‘David’ from a solitary piece of Carrara marble. Standing at 17 feet (5.17 meters) tall, it depicts the Biblical figure David, famed for defeating Goliath. Revealed to the public in 1504, it quickly became an emblem of the Florentine Republic’s commitment to civil liberties.

Leonardo…. Not just a famous artist. - Leonardo was our guide. Do not settle for less. Request Leonardo.
We were staying at the Saint Regis and Leonardo used our location as an opportunity to see other interesting sites on the way. He took us by the oldest pharmacy in the world, the oldest building in Florence, the Piazza della Republica, and the Piazza del Duomo where the Florence Cathedral. All of this on the way to give us historical content on the way to see the David.
He was full of terrific information and spoke perfect English. The David was spectacular. Seeing it in person was breathtaking. It stands almost 16’. No pictures in books can give you any idea.
I’m serious when I say this, a private tour with Leonardo is worth whatever the cost. Bravo Leonardo!

Florence toyr - Leonardo was the highlight of our visit to Florence! We were there with a group of 12 friends. We were running a bit late so he met us at the restaurant that we were having lunch at and told us to take our time and he waited outside. He proceeded to take is on a walking tour that was both informative and entertaining. No easy task! One of the couples in our group went back again for another tour with Leonardo a couple of weeks later with a different group. they said that he gave them a completely different tour that was equally interesting. Leonardo is the best!

Tourist - Leonardo is a fantastic guide and historian who took two separate groups of friends on different days on tours of Florence. He is a great guy with fascinating insights into the history of the city and Italy as a whole. Highly recommend

Leonardo was a fantastic guide - Leonardo is a native Florencian, and that made our tour of Florence a 10 out 10. His knowledge of the history of Florence and Italy gave our group the tour of a lifetime! His english is excellent, and he even taught us how the dialect of Florence differs from the rest of Italy. Hoha-Hola to you, Leonardo!

Perfect way to see the Academia - Stefania was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. She got us right into the museum without waiting, and the lines to get in without reservations were very long! So this got us off to a great start. She knows the museum so well that we went through to the most important exhibits and she had excellent commentary, historical knowledge and even some good gossip about the Medici family. And of course, seeing Michelangelo's David was a highlight, especially with Stefania giving us details about the sculptor and sculpture. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Academia without any stress about lines, who wants to see the David, and enjoys hearing s little art history from a real professional.
