Extraordinary!!!! - We did this activity with our 15 year old daughter and it was the highlight of our stay in Florence. We had an aperitif with Aperol Spritz to start as well as an appetizer. We then learned to make pasta and tiramisu. Each participant made their own dough and afterwards we learned to make ravioli and tagliatelle. We were a group of 7 in total and all helped make dinner in a very well equipped kitchen for a group. Very entertaining and interesting. At the end, we were able to taste the meal we had prepared (salad, ravioli, tagliatelle and tiramisu). I give a 10 for this superb experience!!! A little expensive, 275 euros for 3 but definitely worth it!!! I highly recommend if you have teenagers.

Delicious shared cooking experience - The food was delicious! Learning how to make pasta, sampling pecorino, the company - made for a lovely evening. The two chefs were engaging and made the learning process easy. A small group (5 of us) made for an intimate experience, sharing food we made. I enjoy cooking and look forward to trying (and sharing) my new recipes.

Pasta prep class - The class was interesting and the instructor was very knowledgeable. But I would say that it was a pasta preparation course and not a pasta cooking course because the students never cooked anything. We made the pasta and cut tomatoes for the sauce but it was the instructor who actually cooked and plated the pasta dishes.

Expected more from reviews & description - We loved our chef (Guinevere -sp?) she was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and had a great sense of humor that made the class fun. However we were a bit disappointed on several fronts. First, there was confusion over the meeting point, it appeared for the tour operator as everyone in our class was in the same place & the guide was not… luckily another tour guide from the same company was there so she could call her colleague to collect us delaying our start to the class by about 15mins. And although we did the night class and knew it didn’t include the market several in the group received a confusing email that day reminding them to wear comfortable shoes for the market walk… and when the tour operator showed up she apologized to all of to say the markets are closed on Saturday night so we couldn’t do that part of the tour…. In short, the tour operator seemed confused themselves about the what our night tour did or didn’t entail, it wasn’t a great start. Next, the tour description states the class would be held in a “secret house with a rooftop garden”… this was not true. We were in a cooking school with industrial kitchen. That was fine & suited the purpose but was misleading in the description. Last, the description talks about “unlimited wine” flowing during the class… this was also not true. We had a welcome Prosecco drink with meats at the beginning but it was a bit rushed, likely because of the start time snafu. And then we went into the instruction. This was fun and informative but we didn’t actually cook it. The chef prepared it for us after the instruction & while we sat in another room. The class had a 6pm start time and I’d say wine and food / eating didn’t begin until closer to 9pm. Again not a big deal given that’s the later dinner times we’d become accustomed to in our trip, but a cooking class we expected to be doing a lot more eating, tasting, wine merrymaking. If you sign up for this class don’t do what we did and eat a light lunch ! With all the 5 star reviews we can only think there was an off night for the tour company or confusion in general… and maybe the location of where it takes place needs to be updated in the description so it is not misleading.
