Cooking and dining in an 800-year-old Tuscan villa with Maria Cristina - This experience exceeded my and my husband's expectations. The hostess, like me, is a retired architect. Also like me she had restored an old home - but hers was an 800-year-old villa! We shopped in a local Florence market before starting a 200-minute drive into the lovely countryside. We prepared and dined on a four-course meal with bruschetta, pasta (which we made... I am ordering a pasta machine!) with vegetables and pesto, tenderloin, and tiramisu, accompanied with a local white wine. All of this was despite a power outage in the community, which Maria Cristina easily overcame with the help of a gas stove. It was much more than a day well spent; it was a memory to be cherished.

An Amazing Experience - This "tour" was hands down the best activity we did while in Italy. Within minutes we felt like we were just visiting a friend. We shopped in the farmers market together as she queried us about what we like and dislike and also bought a few things to bring back home. We felt so comfortable in her beautiful home as we enjoyed a "hands on" learning experience of cooking up our very own 4-5 course meal paired with some delicious wine. An absolute must if you are staying in Florence. Would book it again in a heartbeat!

11/10 Experience. Hope to return soon! - What an amazing experience! Maria is very sweet, fun to chat with, and a great cook. We met up with her in the morning and she drove us to her (beautiful) house, where she taught us how to make a hummus and kale bruschetta, apple cake, and pasta from scratch with pan fried zucchini. Everything was so delicious! The cherry on top was that we got to eat outside on the patio with a great view. The vibes were perfect! Should I ever return to Florence, I will certainly be asking to join Maria again (:

Great cooking class in beautiful home - Highlight of a 16 day trip to Italy. Maria was the perfect hostess. Everything we made was delicious but my personal favourite was the fried zucchini flowers. And the tagliatelle with truffles was to die for. Will definitely do this again if we come back to Florence.

A truly authentic experience that we really enjoyed!!! - We had the best time with Maria.. It’s a truly authentic experience in her beautiful Italian countryside home. We really enjoyed learning how to make pasta with her (it’s easier than you would think). If we would have had the time, I would have booked the going to the market portion too. My husband loves to cook and really enjoyed the experience as well. He thanked me for booking it.

A must do country home cooking class - What an amazing experience! It was just my mother & I & Maria Christina welcomed us into her beautiful country home & was not only a gracious host but an excellent teacher who gave us a hands on experience in making the delicious dishes. It was wonderful to sit with her outside talking & enjoying the meal we prepared. We highly recommend this!

Florence cooking class in a gorgeous countryside home in the Tuscan hills - Spending time with Maria in her beautiful Tuscan countryside home was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends, not guests. Her home is warm and inviting, surrounded by the rolling hills of Tuscany, and it set the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable cooking experience. Maria has a gift not only for cooking but also for making you feel completely at ease. She shared her family recipes, guided us patiently through each step, and explained the traditions behind the dishes in a way that made everything feel alive and personal. It wasn’t just about preparing food, it was about sharing a piece of her heart and heritage. The meal we created together was delicious, but what stood out most was the joy of the process, the laughter in the kitchen, and the stories exchanged at the table. It felt like being part of a Tuscan family for the day. If you’re looking for more than just a cooking class, if you want to connect with the true spirit of Tuscany, Maria’s home is the place to be. This experience is one we’ll carry with us for a lifetime, and I cannot recommend it enough.
