We saw so much in one day! - Claudia was our guide and she was terrific! The winery lunch was awesome and a great opportunity to taste several different wines. They also did a great job. Pisa was okay but the Cathedral was closed for some reason. Overall it was a great trip but a very long day.

Steve - Stefano AKA (Steve) was awesome! Labi (driver) was also a great driver. Steve is very knowledgeable, shares more than anyone else we’ve met. He is from the area and is very kind and caring for everyone. Keeps us on our toes to be on time, which is not easy with 50 people. I highly recommend this trip. Ciao!

A great taste of tuscany - Alessandro the guide was excellent. It was an ambitious itinerary but well thought out. Visit times at each location were appropriate.

Beautiful - It was all beautiful. Siena and San Gimignano are like stepping back in time. The country side while driving there was also beautiful. The lunch at the winery was also wonderful and the family host was very gracious.

A great FULL DAY experience to see the Tuscany area - This was a great opportunity to experience an overview of the Tuscany region and see some beautiful sights on the way to Pisa. This is a FULL DAY tour and there were some longish periods of time on the tour bus - with no onboard facilities. Plan accordingly! Siena and San Gimignano were wonderful locations to visit, but those considering this tour need to be able to walk a lot on uneven ground. Most of the streets were hilly with cobblestone surfaces. Time at each location was very limited, so we had to choose which sights were important to see during our free time. There was no way to "see it all". If you are able, climbing the tower in Pisa is worth the views and is a rather novel "leaning climb" going up and down.

Average tour- description not accurate - This tour was recommended by a blogger Maddy hence I chose to go on it. It was a mixed bag. Firstly there are inaccuracies with the provider video and photos on the main page: There were way more than 40 people on our tour bus, there was no 'cows in barn' experience and although you could see the countryside from a hill where we had lunch, there was no walk on the path in the vineyards as shown in the marketing video. Also you could not set your own pace as the tour advertises, the pace is set by the tour guide. Pros: A good bird's eye overview of Tuscany if that is what you want to do. Our tour guide Tony and driver Pepe were professional and did their job with humour and attention. The trip ran on time and we got back to Florence as promised at 8:45 PM. Cons: Inaccurate description as above. More people than advertised hence quite impersonal. The lunch felt like a school dinner and most disappointingly, my request to the lunch organiser guy to sit outside on the veranda (v inside) for lunch was declined on the basis that 'groups only inside' but 15 minutes later, the second bus of the same tour arrived and were all seated outside in front of all of us. A bit embarrassing. The tour felt too rushed because of the time constraints and to explore each place properly you would have to go back. In Pisa, if you are climbing the tower, there will be just 30-35 minutes to do anything else. In Siena, if you are lucky enough to see the Cathedral properly which we were, again only 35 minutes to even enjoy a drink and relax/watch the world go by. Cafes and restaurants in Siena were extremely busy, I chose a relatively quiet one but even they did not even have time to take and bring my order so I had to leave without.

We were left behind - The tour was great, and our tour guide, Victoria, was great. But... Before we started the trip, we first went at the meeting point (near the train station) on time. There was a great crowd there (we didn't expect quite that much of a crowd to be there) and two guides whom we could not hear from one side of the line to the other. One of the guides told us there would be more buses to board for this trip. The guides took us to the actual location were we had to take the bus from, which was quite a considerable distance away from the meeting point. The guides didn't give us much guidance (or we couldn't hear it, like I said, in that sea of people). The guides also were not holding a sign high so we could see it. On the way to the bus we had to cross streets at lights, so we couldn't cross the street the whole crowd together, at some point a part of the crowd remained behind at the lights. When we got were the buses were, me an my husband boarded the first bus parked there, but a little later that bus proved to be for another excursion. The 2 buses from Walk About for our excursion left right away (I don't think they waited even a minute after boarding), and so by the time we figured out that we boarded the wrong bus, we remained looking at the back of the departing buses for our trip. I must say that it was terribly frustrating to stay in the street and look after the buses that left us behind. I spent more than $500 on these tickets, we had a schedule in Florence and therefore could not take this trip another day, etc. I called the number on our tickets and the lady that responded was very nice and helpful, and she was able to resolve our situation because there was one more group and bus coming a bit later for the same trip (with Victoria as a guide); but what if there wasn't another group after our buses just left without us? So, the bottom line is that to me the organization at the beginning of the trip was really not satisfactory. Not even bothering to ensure that all people are on board, and leaving in a minute after boarding, especially when the tickets were so expensive, doesn't seem acceptable to me. We went in another trip from Florence a couple of days later, somewhere else, with another company, and they were extremely thorough not to miss anyone: they gave us tags when we did the check in, they called each one of us in the bus after boarding, and they gave clear and loud explanations on which bus to board. And actually there were three people missing initially from the bus there too, but they didn't just leave them in the middle of the street, they went to look for them and waited until they found them. So maybe Walk About should better organize the departure for their trips too. I want to re-emphasize how disappointing it felt to be left behind and look at the back of the buses that should have had us inside too, but just left in a big hurry, without caring, or even knowing, that they left us behind.
