• Florence - We will pick you up from your accommodation in Florence at 7:30 am. Our driver typically arrives by 7:15 am. The drive to the first winery will take about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
• Montepulciano - Our first stop is this medieval town perched on a hill in southern Tuscany. Known for its elegant Renaissance buildings, it’s a must-visit for travelers.
• Azienda Agricola Ercolani - This winery is located beneath the main town. In the numerous cellars that form the underground city, you’ll find oak barrels of various sizes, small fountains, two authentic Etruscan tombs, cells where the Ghibellines found refuge, workshops, and ancient wells where tradition says coins are thrown for good fortune! The Ercolani family, admirers of art and history, have also created three small museums. You’ll tour the entire property and be introduced to one of Tuscany’s most important wines. The first wine tasting of the day will be here.
• Tenuta Fanti - Owned by the Fanti family since 1800, this estate transitioned from a sharecropping company to a winery. The property spans 260 hectares: 55 hectares of vineyards, 60 of olive trees, and 145 of crops and forest surrounding the new wine cellar built in 2004. The volcanic soil is rich in skeleton. The winery has converted to organic agriculture to protect the land and improve product quality while respecting consumer health. You’ll have a guided tour of the winery to understand its philosophy and the various phases of wine production. The wine tasting on the panoramic terrace will help you appreciate the vineyard’s identity. The wines will be paired with typical Montalcino dishes prepared by their expert chefs, and you’ll also taste their extra virgin olive oil.
• Pienza - The second medieval town you’ll visit in Val d’Orcia, located between Montepulciano and Montalcino, is considered the “touchstone of Renaissance urbanism”.
• Florence - Your guide will drop you back at your pick-up location. With prior notice, guides can drop clients at other locations.
