Worth the time and money. - Relatively short trip, not too far from the dock, but the marsh is wild no matter how close or far you go. Chose this outfit due to low cost and short duration (1 1/2 hours). Didn't expect to see much, gators aren't actors...still saw about a dozen painted turtles, some birds, fish, lots of flora, and an 8 foot gator that got really interested in the boat - could have reached out and touched it if I didn't care about the arm. Yes, we got lucky as I'd guess 1 in 10 tours see a gator. My 29 year old son thought the trip was fun, admitted that he'd been wanting to do this kind of tour for some time since moving out to Ft Lauderdale 2 years back. He was definitely satisfied as the gator came within a foot of us up front on the side, kept saying how cool it was to see one in the water from the boat. Definitely worth it, yes it was hot on 6 July, but the boat moves pretty good - get a seat on the side vs middle... Gator show after the ride was pretty surprising, don't want to provide a spoiler. Just go, relax, buy some cold drinks, and enjoy.

Beautiful view and experience - One of the best tour ever done: the Everglades is a unique habitat and we were lucky enough to see 4 gators. The exhibition is quite good even if I don’t like to see animals in captivity

very nice - Very nice experience with a very nice guide. The kids really enjoyed their day. You do have to be a bit lucky to see a lot of gators, but that's nature's game....

Not worth the money - First - don't expect to see alligators on the airboat ride. They are nocturnal and are not very active during the day. If you do get to see one, they will likely be in the shady parts of the swamp. Enjoy the airboat ride for what it is - a boat ride. The captain of the boat, or at least the one we had, was not very entertaining or informative. He gave us some nuggets of information here or there but nothing the average person didn't know. His mic kept cutting out so even when he was telling us about how indians would meet at this particular location in the middle of the night to trade moonshine to avoid being caught by the authorities during prohibition (found that to be a bit far fetched), you couldn't understand the whole story. Second - after the 40 minute boat ride you can go see the gator show. Kevin was our gator guide. Behind a glass enclosure he should us the oldest gator in the pen, told us why the gators were at the facility, pulled on gator out of the water and show us how he can straddle it while holding it's mouth open with his chin (golf clap). I didn't learn much about gators and I feel he took every opportunity possible to mention how he is paid only with tips. He did not take questions during the performance other than at the end as he stood by a very large tip box. Third - after the show, you walk through this little maze of caged reptiles (insert faint ooozz's and ahhh's). Two staff members are standing by with baby alligators you can take a picture with for $10 (petty way to squeeze more money out of you). Overall, I do not think paying $40 per person ($28 for kids 3-11) was worth the money. The entertainment value was minimal, the educational value was paltry and in the end I found myself asking, "What did I just spend $120 for my family of three on?" I left only with regret of coming here and will not recommend to anyone unless their exception are set very low.

Amazing air boat ride...cruel gator show - We saw a few gators and you could tell our air boat captain (captain chaos) really cared about the wildlife in the everglades. He was a great captain! The only reason for the 3 stars is the gator show after the ride, it was cruel and you could tell the gators just wanted to be left alone. They live in a cramped pen called the pit which sounds just as bad as it is. After the show you walk through this tiny area with animals in cramped cages and pens, foxes, racoons and goats that should be rehabilitated or at least live in sanctuaries with lots of space to roam and shaded areas. I was shocked and saddened to see how these animals lived

Alligators up close but disappointing farm. - We came away feeling disappointed and sad for the animals in poor small enclosures in the actual ‘zoo/farm’ part of the park. Positives- we saw about 5 alligators. This is obviously not seeing them in the wild, the guide knows where they are and they make a noise to call them. It was cool to see them come right up to the boat. Negatives- on arrival, the staff at the desk and all staff until we met our guide were miserable, no smiles or greeting. They looked like they didn’t want to be there. The guide on the boat was pleasant, but we didn’t learn much about alligators or the ecosystem. We were directed to the ‘show’. The guy in the alligator enclosure seemed to be telling jokes in a strange voice than actually giving much information about alligators, plus pushing the tipping a lot. The enclosure was small and sad to see these creatures in such a pitiful area. As we walked through to the exit through the farm, we saw a fox in a tiny cage … why? Why is this in there at all? A turtle with a garbage bin over it and it looked stuck under the bin. Very sad.

Go elsewhere please - We stopped off here as part of our post cruise transportation. Must say that all four us were all disappointed. The boat captain was a rude jerk. I am not sure if that was part of his act or he was just a jerk all the time, The alligator show was not any better. Kevin likes to berate the clients and the animals he “rescued.” Sure pushed a lot for donations while not being entertaining or informative at all. A legend in his own mind it seems. At least we know not to go back. Hope others avoid it as well.

Steve Irwin would not approve, not at all. Shame on you - After going through the airboat tour, one tour guide said he wanted to be like Steve Irwin. I'm from Australia - Steve lived up the road. There is no way in this life would Steve have supported Kevin's alligator experience, and nor should the tour guide who said he wanted to be like Steve. If he did, he wouldn't work there. We were told the reason we couldn't see alligators was that it was so hot they needed to be deeper in the water or they would die - that's understandable. The alligators in the enclosure were in bathtub depth of water. No reprieve from the heat for them. They promote themself in the name of Steve Irwin, all through the tour. But having been to see Australia Zoo I can say it would break his heart. Kevin who performs with his head in the mouth of an alligator, and who made it very clear none of us were getting out of there without paying him because he was standing by the donation box. 'Donation'. It was dreadful. Kevin, after his dreadful jokes that fell deaf on many of us then said he 'rescued' these animals. Animals that made a fateful mistake to end up in someones yard and then end up with him rescuing them. What is the definition of rescue? Its freedom, and a life that is better than one that they have come from. Rescuing a dog or cat or a person from tragedy is giving them a better version of life than they had. Kevin's version of freedom is hauling the animals around and profiteering from their misery. There are worse things than a bullet, and if those animals had a choice they would have chosen that. You didn't rescue anything Kevin. You profiteer, and if thats the behaviour you have in public, god knows what you do in private. You, and the Everglades Holiday Park taught me a lesson. Never give money to someone that takes your soul. Do not think for one moment that this place is about animals - it's not. And Steve Irwin would have been disgusted. I know because we knew him here in Australia, and he was up the road from us. Shame on you. The Everglades is amazing. Do better! Do much better! Let go of the BS alligator experience -- it's animal cruelty and sensationalism.
