Great historic museum! - Great place! We really enjoyed the informative tour. My favorite part was exploring the vintage kitchen gadgets and the vintage desks in the old schoolhouse. Be sure to check out the artist studios in the main building, there's some truly fantastic art there! We spent 2+ hours on our visit, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Art culture history - Definitely a must see! I live in the area of the museum and learned so much about the iconic history of art, culture, trade, transportation and families (native and settlers) that made Fort Lauderdale. You must check out the 3rd floor with actively working local artists and their studios. What an added treat. Thank you to the staff, very informative and welcoming. I will be back.

Interesting summary of the history of Fort Lauderdale. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike! - Interesting overview of the history of Fort Lauderdale. From the Tequesta Indians to today’s modern yacht business. Who knew the city was named after a Tennessee Volunteer? Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.

Very interesting although long - The tour was very interesting, especially looking at the original belongings in the rooms. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant but I think , due to his enthusiasm for the history, he spoke a little too long and detailed for me. There was no a/c in the schoolroom and it was very warm inside. My guests enjoyed the entire experience.
