A Great Way to Spend a Day in Ft. Lauderdale! - We had a wonderful trip to and from the Hollywood pier, lots to do at that stop. Margaritaville, then a fun walk on the broadwalk. That evening we cruised north, and everything was lit up with the Christmas lights, houses and businesses, and it was a heavenly time! Captain Patrick, and our narration guide Jeff Kozak made the trip extra special, they were fun and entertaining and funny, everyone on board was into it with the stories and jokes. Water taxi is a great way to spend a day in Ft. Lauderdale!

A day on the water - This vendor is flexible if you want to spend a day on the water or stop at 20 sites along the canals in Ft. Lauderdale ("Ft. L") . We started late from Hollywood FL (from this location leaves Thurs through Sunday only). Narration and views made it very worthwhile at price $38 each. Stopped at many attractions and restaurants. From where we started you take ferry to Ft. L and change to smaller boat to tour rest of Ft. L. Stops included beaches, Swimming Museum, restaurants. Narration interesting about millionaire homes and their mega yachts along canal. Boats go back to hollywood on odd hour. Appreciated them waiting for smaller boats so we didn't have longer wait. Really good daytrip. Would advise starting early. You can spend a short amount of time or fully day. Last boat leaves hollywood about 9 pm. Enjoy.

BEWARE - buy tickets at last possible moment or get ripped off - BEWARE - My family and I enjoyed the all day pass and would recommend. HOWEVER, Water Taxi forces you to buy tickets ahead of time online. I bought 4 tickets the day before but unfortunately a person in my party got sick and could not make it. As we boarded, we were told to simply put out finger over the bar code of the unused ticket and we would get a refund. Called next day to get refund. NASTY lady - no refund period. Suggest you buy tickets just before you board.

Wait time - If you don’t mind waiting a very long time between stops, it was great. However we ended up only stopping twice because we waited well over 45 min for our taxi to arrive. It took up way too much of our day. The easy on and off is not true. Boats take way too long to arrive. Crew members on both taxis were informative and fun.

Hit & Miss - The first driver was entertaining and educational, more than expected. But then two boats broke down. We were left at a stop to get picked up later. One boat skipped our stop, and the next was going the wrong direction, so we rode it around. Ok to try once, not going back.

Nice boat ride - The water taxi drivers are very pleasant and it is a nice boat ride. You will learn some history of who owns or owned the waterfront mansions. This was my third time taking the water taxi in 3 years and there’s a lot of waiting. I feel as though they don’t come as frequently as they should or they need to add another boat or two to the fleet.

Not what we expected - The boat people were very pleasant. It’s just not what we expected. Our understanding was that the water taxi takes you from one destination to another. Instead the taxi takes you from one drop off to another. So not really destinations as far as like shopping or dining areas. And it’s a 45min- 1hour between stops. We finally figured out that to go from Hollywood beach to the further stop north would be over three hours each way. There’s just not much to do on the trip other than listen to the boat driver. We took an Uber back to the hotel to save time.

Do not buy the unlimited day pass! - I bought 2 unlimited day ride passes in the hopes to see as much as we could via the waterways in our short visit. I don’t suggest doing this- just buy as you go, in our experience we sat at multiple locations for too long/water taxis passed the stops we were at due to being at capacity multiple times ( high volumes of people riding)- we ended up only able to ride the taxi 1 time!!! It was so disappointing- I really appreciated the employee who explained that the high traffic of people impacted service and they could not guarantee who got on/when buying these kinds of passes if you could really ride them; he was the one who suggested just buy as you go. Lesson learned.

Be prepared for a LONG WAIT! - We started the morning in Pompano Beach at Indian Mound Park with a 30 minute wait. We took the taxi to Shooters to transfer to the Fort Lauderdale taxi. After another 30 minutes we boarded our taxi and stopped at Las Olas. After lunch we decided to explore the area and walked to the Swimming Hall of Fame to pick up a taxi to return to Shooters and Pompano. This is where the terrible experience began. The boat tracker constantly gave misinformation. On arrival it stated a 33 minute wait. After an hour and 45 minutes we finally boarded a taxi for Shooters. Upon arrival there we were faced with an estimated 47 minutes for the next Pompano taxi. At that point we decided to “abandon ship” and took an Uber back to our car at Indian Mound Park. If you are willing to spend several hours of your day sitting and waiting be their guests. Otherwise you may want to look for another option.

Crapp. - went on the water taxi today from Pompano- Little or no commentary the ships Mate kept saying I’m not gonna repeat myself because that’s what we did on the way down, only about three other people were on the boat the whole time the rest of us got on new so we had no commentary. We got off and then decided to go back on in the evening—- even worse Experience zero commentary the young guy with frizzy hair promptly up sold me another ticket to go to Fort Lauderdale after waiting for 40 minutes on the side of the dock I rang the office and they said the boats are still going but it will be another 45 mins. the guy who sold me the ticket said it would be 20 minutes maximum so there’s a heap of us who got off and waited at the dock, will not be recommending this to anyone. Just wondering how I get my money back.
