Highlights
  • Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site - Sitting atop a prairie hill, the interpretive center at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump overlooks the spot where the primary food source and way of life were herded toward the edge and fell to their death. The demise of the bison provided sustenance and contributed to all facets of the Plains people’s way of being. Bison were how they clothed themselves, sustained themselves throughout brutal winters and provided shelter from the harsh prairie elements.

Waterton is surreal.... - This was very very special. Was our second trip with Jerzy within 2 days. We covered Banff earlier. Everybody visits and loves Banff but for me Waterton was the highlight of our week. The range of attractions is simply surreal. Add to that an expert like Jerzy and you cant simply miss this. This tour was not like other group tours that mainly focus on Waterton town and nearby sights. But guess what we saw? We saw Bisons in a remote area of the park and I cannot explain it in words. It was truly a spiritual experience. We also visited Red Rock Canyon, Cameron Lake etc. before stopping in the town and spending some in the famous Prince of Wales hotel. Like always, only 5 stars for Jerzy and his tours.

Worth the drive - Walking short trails to the bison park, lakes and waterfalls. The scenery was amazing! Lunch was at a picnic table by the lake. There were frequent stops at points of interest and the guide was flexible. History of the area was also provided. The guide was extremely knowledgeable of the area.

A truly unique and inspiring tour! - This was the BEST tour of my vacation! Jerzy was an exceptional guide. I've lived in Canada my whole life and I had no idea about the beauty of Alberta and it's rich culture and heritage. Jerzy was extremely knowledgeable about the area's natural history and the history of the Indigenous and European peoples. So many factual and interesting stories! On the tour: the Bison were stunning to see in their natural habitat, Red Rock Canyon was so beautiful and Jerzy took us on a small hike and allowed time to wade in the creek. Stunning! Waterton Village was interesting and the Prince of Wales Hotel was grand and charming. We enjoyed lunch at the gorgeous Cameron Lake park and the falls there were so beautiful. Lots of wildlife throughout the tour seen as well. Such an awesome tour with outstanding scenery. No packed touristy areas! Jerzy was very accommodating and flexible. This excursion takes you to places where you can truly experience and explore the breathtaking region, learn the factual stories and history and connect with nature.

Where the mountains meet the prairies - My second trip with Jerzy was full of information again. Going down the Cowboy Trail to Franks Slide, continuing towards Waterton Lakes, we stopped to see the places or for wildlife taking pictures. To make the trip even more authentic we stayed two nights at a local farm. Though it wasn't easy finding places for dinner near Waterton in winter, Jerzy didn't stop searching. With lots of stops for small hikes or the chance to see wildlife we've never were in a rush and got to see a lot. Head-Smashed-In Buffalo-Jump was the last stop on the way back to Calgary.

Don’t Skip Out on Waterton - If you are not sure whether you want to take the time to visit Waterton Lakes National Park over another day in Banff, DO it! Waterton is absolutely charming and a beautiful town. We loved exploring with Jerzey and he took us to all the great spots. In addition to be an excellent tour guide, he also spent time taking photos of us on his nice camera. He then shared those pictures with us. How special to have those candid memories to look back on! We also very much enjoyed Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump. It was a very interesting experience that we will not soon forget. The museum is very well done, informative, and almost spiritual. Jerzey is your tour guide and is professional, kind, and has so much knowledge about the world. Don’t miss out on booking a trip with him!

Epic waterton adventure - Jerzy took my husband and i on an all day trip from calgary to waterton park in his jeep. Rarely do you find a guide more excited about the adventure than you are! He took us to a very impactful first nation museum (buffalo head smash world heritage site) along the way. Jerzy noticed my husbands limited mobilty and on the fly chaned our Waterton adventure from hiking to a boat ride. It was all epic. His conversational ease and intereting stories were a great part of the days joy. What a great experience. You will mot regret booking with Jerzy.

Wonderful way to end our Canadian Rockies Vacation! - I was so happy that Jerzy suggested we add Waterton Lakes to our tour after visiting Jasper, Yoho and Banff National Parks. The trip takes you through very different terrain than we had experienced up until that point and I only wish we had one more day to spend in the area! We were not able to take the boat ride on the lake due to weather but Jerzy came up with a wonderful Plan B and we stopped at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. I hate to think we might have missed that if we had nice weather! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Jerzy and I am sure we will be back!

Wonderful Day Trip To Waterton - My Waterton tour with Jerzy came at the end of my trip to Calgary, and it was radically different from braving the crowds in Banff on big bus tours. Waterton was practically deserted when we arrived, and Jerzy was such an enthusiastic and considerate guide. He happily stopped whenever I saw a view that I wanted to photograph, of which there were many. I’ve always wanted to visit this park ever since reading an article in the National Geographic about Glacier & Waterton, and I’d like to thank Jerzy for making it a wonderful experience!

Exceeded expectations many times over. - Helpful and prompt communication within moments of booking, was more than prepared to collect from my hotel (no other operator was). Jerzy is affable, warm and approachable, with that innate ability to actually share the experience with you as a companion rather than come across a ‘tour guide’. He has a passion for the area, and particularly the First Nation presence in it, something which he shared by detailing various aspects of their history, movements, and current status. As an example, he shared with me a visit to the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump at Willow Creek, which was a real privilege and eye-opening in equal measure. Courteous and conscientious, checking in on weather reports and reviewing how it may affect the day’s plans. Being a first time vistor to Canada, I’d not even heard of Waterton Lakes but we went on a route that took in more spectacular sights than I could have imagined possible in the space of a single excursion; Route.2 south to Fort Macleod, along HW.3 to Pincher Creek, Route.6 south to Waterton Park, covering some 400 miles in one day, which is a figure someone from the UK doesn’t experience very often! If I had the ability to upload images of some of the stunning sights we encountered together I would, but perhaps that’ll only encourage those of you reading this review to discover those first hand for yourselves!
