Depending on the season, you might learn to make a twist on the classic Barbadian rum punch, Corn ‘n’ Oil (a cocktail featuring falernum, a local sugarcane liqueur), and a cocktail with Kola tonic, a Caribbean-spiced local drink. A fun way to experience the island’s culture is to immerse yourself in this mixology class with a local expert! Shane is a Barbadian with a passion for mixology, science and travel. Shane made mixology a career after being offered an opportunity to bartend to aid in college payments. Since then, he made his way to the international stage where he is known for the flavors he creates with his well-balanced cocktails. Shane is a bar consultant and travels to experience different cultures and spirits from around the world. He looks forward to sharing the tricks to rum cocktail-making that he has picked up over the years while introducing you to the flavors and spirits of Barbados during this 1.5 hour private mixology class and rum distillery tour.
- Shane is flexible on timing and can host between 10-4:30pm so feel free to customize your timing with him after you book if the 1pm or 3pm time slots don’t work for you.
- Even on days that the distillery is closed to the public, Shane can host at the venue. Please contact him directly with any questions.

Exceptional Mixology Class & Distillery Tour - WOW, what an amazing afternoon we had with Shane. The mixology class and distillery tour were both truly exceptional. We learnt so much from the mixology class and cocktails were soo delicious. After each of the 3 cocktails we were then taken for a tour of the different areas of the distillery including going through the fascinating process of how rum is made. A fun, interactive and personal experience. A BIG recommend from us.

Amazing experience! - Got to try the rums and learn how to make them into cocktails. What more could you ask for? Shane was a fantastic and very knowledgeable host on both making cocktails, but also gave us a private tour, history of rum making and how it’s made now, truly a fantastic place where nothing goes to waste. I can’t thank Shane enough for making the experience amazing for my husband and I.

Amazing Class, Great Value! - What can I say, Sir Shane was AMAZING!!! This experience was one of our highlights if not..thee best of our entire trip. Shane made it very nice and intimate for our private class. It was beautiful day, so he had us set-up outside. He showed us how to make 3 very popular and delicious Rum drinks including Rum punch! Shane was charismatic, funny, insanely knowledgeable and you could see his passion for his craft through this experience. The tour through the distillery and information shared was a great bonus! We arranged our own pickup/dropoff from our resort which was only 15 minutes from the location. I highly recommend this if going to Barbados!

Cheers! - Take this tour! Shayne is fun, entertaining and knowledgeable! We had so much fun making cocktails and learning about the history and culture of rum production on the island. Great way to sample the "spirit" of Barbados!

Cheers! - This was one of our favorite things to do on the island! Shane is great! He’s funny, engaging, and truly interested in what you bring to the (cocktail) table so he can make the information more relatable to you! The class is set up perfectly so that you mix, and then enjoy your drink while you learn about the history and process of rum making! The time spent was fun, informative, and very tasty!

Mixing Fun & Cocktails With The Expert - Doing the Mixology Class and Rum Tour was an experience my partner and I will never forgot.
The host Mr McClean showed his us what mixology really looks like and his character also made the class very fun whilst displaying his flamboyant skills as an experienced mixologist. I would definitely recommend anyone to really book, participate with his class and most importantly have fun doing it.

Amazing experience - I enjoyed the personal experience. The tour was very informative and fun. At the end you will know a lot about rum! Learning how to make drinks was great! It prepared me for when I build a bar in my home.

Great cocktail workshop - The class was easy to follow thanks to the clear instructions of Sir Shane. He was passionate about his expertise and was very happy to answer all of our questions. We did not only learn how to make a cocktail, but als learnt about the different kind of rum and the destillery. He also told us how to give your own twist to the cocktails which is very nice to know as this allows me to make even more cocktails! Thank you again!
