Fox Glacier - Spend up to 3 hours hiking on the Fox Glacier, The fly-in, fly-out heli hike combines the excitement of walking on the Te Moeka o Tuawe/Fox Glacier with the thrill of helicopter flights. By flying in you can access and explore a part of the glacier where its forces work hardest and often create spectacular ice caves and arches. You will be outfitted with boots and crampons specially designed for these ice conditions. You follow the ice steps cut by your guide as you explore the amazing formations.
Please note that this is a natural and ever-changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen. This is a weather dependent trip.

Truly awesome - The weather was great and the guide, Henry, was patient with all questions, knowledgeable, and gave plenty time for everyone to take photos even pointing out several photo opportunities. Very unique experience.

Fox glacier helihike - a fabulous trip worth doing - Fabulous once in a lifetime experience on Fox Glacier with a very knowledgeable, kind and friendly glacier guide named Taylor. Our trip to the glacier was delayed by around 30-45 mins due to the uncertain weather on the glacier but once we were on our way the weather up there was perfect, in fact on the warmer side. Every minute on the ice was something the entire family cherished and it was a first for us in a helicopter so that was thrilling too. Our group consisted of 9 visitors. Plenty of stops for photos on the ice. The guide indicated that a scientist has predicted this glacier may be non existent in 75 years, so if money and time permits you should see it. The glacier can only be seen using the helicopter / Heli hike services. Thank you for a wonderful day Fox Glacier Guiding.

Amazing experience! Our guide Cassie was fantastic! - My wife and I were on our honeymoon and were exited to do a heli hike on Franz Josef and were bummed to find out it was cancelled that morning. So we checked here and could not have asked for a BETTER experience! They got us in right away. From customer service to the actual guided walk we agreed this was a highlight of our honeymoon.
Cassie was an amazing tour guide despite having some difficult people in our group. She handles them well. It got cloudy and had to wait for a helicopter, but my wife and I had a super fun time hanging out w Billy and Moss at the top.
If you’re in the fence about going, jump right in. The pilots have decades of experience and the guides are great. Worth the money, the time, everything it took to get there.

Heli hike Fox glacier - Amazing experience all round. We all enjoyed our heli flight followed by our discovery of the glacier. Rob, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable & enthusiastic. He really made our day.

Amazing experience - Brilliant experience, beautiful views on a clear day. We loved every minute of it! The hike wasn’t too strenuous and our guide showed us lots of cool ice caves. We did the 8.50 tour and a couple arrived back at 13.00.

Unique experience that only exists once in the world. - The crew was great, very nice and helpful. The socks and shoes you got were very good quality and clean. I recommend it to everyone.

If you’re visiting NZ... - If you’re visiting NZ South Island, this is a must do! The experience of being on the glacier, riding a helicopter and support from the guides made the experience incredible!

Brilliant Helicopter Ride and Glacier Hike! - Brontë was a brilliant guide and we saw so many amazing glacier features! The tour was very well-organized with getting us gear on and the helicopter ride was so cool! I highly recommend this trip!

Never went. Was canceled - Drove over 4.5 hours for them to cancel “5 minutes” before we got there. They should be able to give more of a heads up than 5 minutes prior. Especially to people who have to dive far. We did another helicopter tour two days later with a different company and they were able to give us 1.5 hours heads up
