Embracing the Majesty of Iguazu Falls
Thanksgiving weekend in Foz do Iguaçu offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the natural wonders that grace our planet. As the sun rises on November 23rd, the day begins with a cool, overcast morning, perfect for a leisurely start. By midday, the skies clear, inviting you to embark on an unforgettable journey to the Iguazu Falls and Bird Park tour. Available from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this adventure promises to mesmerize you with over 270 cascades, some reaching heights of 80 meters, adorned with rainbows that dance in the mist.
As you traverse the walkways of the Iguazu National Park, the panoramic views from the Brazilian side are nothing short of breathtaking. The approach to the Garganta del Diablo, or Devil’s Throat, is a humbling experience, as the sheer power of the falls envelops you in a symphony of nature’s might. The afternoon sun casts a golden hue over the landscape, enhancing the vibrant colors of the surrounding flora and fauna. A review from September 2024 captures the essence of this experience:
Highly recommended experience!! - We took advantage of the fact that we were on holiday in Iguazu, we came across the Brazilian side, and the bird park and we really liked it! The guides were very good, always attentive and willing to answer all questions. I recommend going with time and patience, as they are very busy and massive places. A Symphony of Birds and Reptiles
As the afternoon progresses, the Bird Park awaits, offering a sanctuary of biodiversity just a stone’s throw from the falls. This grand bird sanctuary, the largest in Latin America, is home to over 1,500 birds spanning 150 species. Wander through 16 hectares of woodland, where the air is filled with the calls of toucans, herons, and the majestic harpy eagle.
The park’s design allows for an intimate encounter with its inhabitants. Cross a small bridge over an artificial lake teeming with fish and flamingos, and enter the Forest Nursery, a microcosm of the Iguazú National Park. Here, turkeys and pheasants roam freely, while the Pantanal Nursery showcases the world’s largest floodplain, home to a myriad of species. A review from April 2024 highlights the park’s charm:
Great tour! - The tour guides and staff from Nordic were very professional and friendly. The view of the cataracts is impressive! The bird park was a lot of fun as you can see many native species in a nice environment where they seem to be thriving. (Reviewed at: 2024-04-26)
A Day of Panoramic Beauty
On November 24th, the weather is clear and inviting, with temperatures rising to a comfortable 85.7°F. It’s the perfect day to embark on the Iguazu Falls Tour from Puerto Iguazu, available from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This tour offers a seamless journey across the Brazilian border, where the panoramic vistas of the falls unfold before you.
The tour begins with a scenic drive to Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, where you’ll board a bus to the viewing walkways. As you approach the falls, the mist from the Devil’s Throat envelops you, a refreshing embrace from nature. The tour concludes at the stunning Floriano Fall, where multiple perspectives offer a new appreciation for this natural wonder. A review from July 2024 captures the essence of this tour:
Beautiful Visit to the Brazilian Falls! - I really enjoyed visiting the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls! The views are more panoramic than on the Argentinian Side and are really breathtaking. It was helpful to go with the tour group because our van was able to go through an expedited line at the border that was much shorter than the taxi/personal car lines, and the tour guide took care of most of the passport control for us, so we got across the border very quickly. Once we got to the Falls we mostly walked around on our own, but the tour guide was helpful in letting everyone in our group know the best spots to take photos. I would definitely recommend Say Hueque for a convenient and reliable visit to the Falls! (Reviewed at: 2024-07-09)
