Highlights
  • Palace of Versailles - Meet your guide in central Paris and enjoy a short, escorted train ride to Versailles. On arrival, let them take you on a journey in the footsteps of the Kings and Queens of France. During the reign of Louis XIV - the Sun King - Versailles was the place to be and to be seen. Nowadays visitors from all over the world still come to Versailles to marvel at the splendours of this incredible palace. Our skip the line access allows you to bypass the long lines that form each day, and our friendly local guides will steer you expertly through the crowds, bringing the famous figures who once inhabited this palace back to life.

  • The Hall of Mirrors - Marvel at the glittering Hall of Mirrors, and hear the stories of the Kings, Queens and courtiers who played out their lives in this sumptuous setting.

You’ll learn how the Kings and Queens lived out their lavish lives in public, how they kept the gossiping courtiers under their thumb, and stole Italy’s thunder by making Versailles the artistic center of Europe. Discover a typical day in the life of Marie Antoinette; you’ll quickly understand why she hated the palace so much! Her opulent lifestyle here would ultimately lead to her tragic demise under the French Revolution; she left Versailles in 1789 never to return.

  • Jardins du Chateau de Versailles - After visiting the royal apartments inside the palace, your guide will lead you through the spectacular gardens, once the setting of balls, parties and elaborate firework displays. On fountain show days you will discover the amazing waterworks, still running today as they did in the times of Kings and Queens. Otherwise, enjoy the beautiful Musical Gardens as you explore with your guide.
  • Le Petit Trianon - We then invite you join us and discover the secret parts of this incredible place. After a break for lunch, spend an afternoon exploring the beautiful hidden treasures tucked away in the expansive gardens. Away from the crowds, see places that only Queens, Kings and their closest friends were allowed access to.

King Louis XVI gave a key encrusted with diamonds to his beloved wife Marie Antoinette. It opened the doors to a secret world, far removed from the public life at the palace and accessible to only a few. Follow in her footsteps, through the beautiful English style gardens, into the elegant and charming rooms of her home, furnished today as they were then. You will also peek into her tiny theater, built specially for her so she could perform on stage, to small audiences made up of friends and servants! This stunning theater is often called the hidden jewel of Versailles.

  • Le Hameau de la Reine - At Trianon Marie Antoinette lived a simple, country life. You will discover her Hamlet, a perfect replica of a Normandy village, complete with thatched cottages and vegetable gardens where, far from the elaborate rituals of the palace, she would play at being a shepherdess surrounded by farm animals.

No visit to Versailles is complete without seeing the beauty of the Petit Trianon and Marie-Antoinette’s peaceful hamlet.

For the comfort of your visit we will take the ‘Petit Train’ to and from the Petit Trianon.

Amazing Guide - Unfortunately I have forgotten our guide's name. But, she was so incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of Versailles and had very relatable explanations. She painted a picture of various scenarios and always kept the flow. Amazing all around.

Totally Worth It - We went on this tour as part of our honeymoon and we had an amazing experience with this organization going to Versailles. The instructions for finding the guides were very clear. They gave us our train tickets and walked us through how the RER C train works (a little different from the regular metro). The first guide went with us on the train then walked us to our tour guide Ivan that we spent the rest of the day with. Ivan was INCREDIBLE. He made the day so fun. His charisma and personality and interesting historical facts made the long tour go by quickly. Even though it was a LONG day with A LOT of walking (we had 16,000 steps by the end of the day) I could have listened to Ivan’s stories about French history for much longer. He had so many jokes and anecdotes and even offered recommendations for where to eat and insights into Parisian culture. All in all we had a great experience and learned a lot that we didn’t know about French history. I highly recommend this tour and Ivan as a tour guide.

Paris vacation - I spent a full day in Versailles with my daughter while on vacation in Paris. We could have easily spent another full day milling around the gardens. It was incredibly rich in history, art and just beautiful. We spent about 5 hours just in the palace alone!

Excellent Tour - We met Berrick at Montparnasse who escorted us from Paris to meet our guide Cecille. We had a pleasant surprise as we had previously met Cecille on a tour of the Latin Quarter. Berrick was very enthusiastic and helpful, organising train tickets, and escorting us to the Palace. We were very impressed with the tour which included the Palace, Gardens and Petit Triannon. Cecille was very fluent, possessing excellent knowledge of the history and culture of the Palace, Gardens, Petit Triannon and the members of the Royal Families who lived there. We would recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest in French History and Culture. If we visit Paris again we hope we are lucky enough to again have Cecille as our guide.

Versailles and Garden Tour - We enjoyed this tour very much. It was interesting to see where some of the Olympic events were going to take place. The gardens were as beautiful as the palace.

Nothing compares to Versailles until you see it! - Versailles is truly spectacular and a "must visit" if you are travelling to Paris. It rivals the Sistine Chapel in terms of the awe, scale and comprehension. Whether its the gardens and their fountains, or the multitude of rooms with extensive art works and decorations including the Hall of Mirrors, nothing compares. We were there 6 hours and barely scratched the surface. Get there early and beat the crowds, make sure you tour the palace buildings and leave plenty of time to absorb the gardens and grounds. We would have liked to have seen inside the Chapel but ran out of time! I guess you can't see everything in one trip!
