Great story. Amazing history. Delicious balls. - I stopped in Frankfort on my way across Kentucky and toured the Rebecca Ruth Museum. The tour is very brief, only 30 minutes or so (which includes an 8-minute video), but for the price (only $10) that seemed totally fair. My guide answered all my questions and was very friendly. The actual kitchen at the museum is a surprisingly small operation, considering they make millions of candies per year. It's all very impressive. Ruth's story is definitely worth experiencing.

Perfect 30 minute tour - Very fun, informative tour of this important and historic candy shop. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun. The behind the scenes look at the kitchen and production line was amazing. Great atmosphere and museum/gift shop to load up on all of the bourbon balls you could ever want.

Enjoyed the tour of this candy factory that stays true to its historic roots and within the family. - The two women who started this candy business in the late 1800's were trailblazers! We attended the 150th Kentucky Derby (on my bucket list). We are from WA State. In researching options to visit during our five day trip to Kentucky--this tour was added to our list. I wanted to learn the story firsthand about the creator of the original bourbon ball. My maternal grandmother who was born in 1909 from Arkansas made bourbon and rum balls at Christmas - I was a "little helper." I purchased a gift set of boubon balls to send to my 85 year old mother for Mother's Day. I am pleased that Ruth's Candy offers a wide variety of chocolates. We purchased several kinds for our two grown daughters that have not developed a taste for alcohol infused chocolates. The factory location is in a lovely part of the countryside outside Lexington, Kentucky.
