Great trip - Great scenery. Peaceful. Informative. Small numbers - on the day we went we were the only two! Weather can be a challenge - we were lucky.

This trip is a must.!! Don't leave the west coast without doing it. - My wife and I did this trip today , not really knowing much about the lake or the trip. We chose a spectacular west coast day - the lake was like glass , so much native bird song and the nature walk we chose to do on the other side of the lake was really informative and enjoyable. The guides we had with us were really informative, interesting , funny and entertaining - and make a spectacular coffee and tea.!! We have done a lot of different activities in New Zealand but this one comes to mind as about the best value for money we have done. We very seldom review activities or give 5 stars - only doing this when it is truly warranted. So - take our advice - if you're planning an NZ holiday from overseas or you live in NZ - definitely take the time to come and visit the west coast which has some phenomenal scenery and friendly locals - and definitely do the Lake Mapourika cruise . You'll be so pleased you did.!!

Amazing experience - Went kayaking on Lake Mapourika with a school group and had an amazing time. The guys and gals were extremely knowlegable and patient with the students, including feeling very safe and at ease in such capable hands. 10/10 would recommend this experience.

Would definitely do it again we had a marvellous time it really went way to quick and would definitely recommend it to others also had a warm cuppa listening to bell birds just of the shore line. If you want a piece of serenity then this is a must.

Fantastic cruise on the lake. - Fantastic cruise on the lake, you get to see the surrounding landscape from a different perspective. The walk through the rainforest was beautiful, it’s a whole other world in there. Run by a local who was really nice and very knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommend you go!

Relaxed and informative - The location and unspoilt wilderness is breathtaking. Our guide was also top class being able to provide informative local perspective of the area along with the NZ environment and landscape in general. If you are after a slower pace, NZ wilderness experience, we would highly recommend.

Nice ride around the lake - First of all, the guides Dale and Nicole were great! They were full of interesting information, and their conversation encouraged customer questions and engagement. We learned a lot in 2 hours! They brought us to see some nesting birds, which was terrific. It was cloudy so we didn't get a view of the glacier, and it was probably too early in the season for much bird activity. However, the trip was a great way to fill a couple of hours in Franz Josef and the company was very flexible about working with our schedule.
