• Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima - The Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, often referred to as the Basilica of the Rosário, is a significant part of the Sanctuary of Fátima, situated in Cova da Iria, Fátima, within the municipality of Ourém, Portugal.

Construction of the Rosary Basilica commenced in 1928, designed in a neo-baroque style by Dutch architect Gerardus Samuel van Krieken. It is located at the site where the Little Shepherds were playing and building a small stone wall when they witnessed a flash they mistook for a thunderstorm on May 13, 1917. The first stone was blessed by the Archbishop of Évora, D. Manuel da Conceição Santos, in 1928, with the consecration occurring on October 7, 1953. In 1954, Pope Pius XII bestowed upon it the title of Minor Basilica.

The beach, fully integrated into the urban landscape by the waterfront houses, is bordered to the north by the promontory and to the south by the harbor jetty. It retains traditional cloth tents with vibrant stripes during the summer. The sea, often rough with strong waves, is perfect for swimming, surfing, and bodyboarding.

Sintra’s application for World Heritage/Cultural Landscape status with UNESCO aimed to classify an area recognized for its unique cultural and environmental characteristics: a cultural unit preserved in numerous palaces and parks; manor houses with gardens and forests; mansions and chalets amidst lush vegetation; extensive walled sections crowning the mountain’s highest peaks. Additionally, there are numerous meditation convents among cliffs, woods, and fountains; churches, chapels, and hermitages, which are secular centers of faith and art. In essence, it is an intact cultural unit with a wealth of archaeological remains indicating occupations dating back thousands of years.

• Cascais - Cascais is a charming Portuguese village in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, part of the region and district of Lisbon, with a population of 64,310 (2021) within its urban area.

It serves as the seat of the municipality of Cascais, covering a total area of 97.4 km² and home to 214,158 residents (2021), divided into four parishes. The municipality is bordered to the north by Sintra, to the east by Oeiras, and to the south and west by the Atlantic Ocean.
