The Panoramic Ropeway ascends to an observation point to Kachi Kachi Mountain.
  • Oishi Park - Oishi Park is a public park located on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi. From the park you can enjoy a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. The park features a 350m walking path with many flowers planted along it; from early April to Late May the moss phlox flowers spread out like a pink carpet, from late June into late July the gorgeous lavender plants bloom, and from mid to late-October the kokia shrubs show their beautiful red autumn colors. The contrast between the various flowers and Mt. Fuji is spectacular.

The park is also home to the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center where you can enjoy making fruit jam and an all-you-can eat cherry & blueberry picking course. They also feature a café where you can try specialty made blueberry ice cream.

  • Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu - The Hakone Shrine is a Japanese Shinto shrine on the shores of Lake Ashi in the town of Hakone, dates back to the year 757.
The “red gate of peace” (heiwa no torii) standing proud and tall in Ashinoko Lake.

  • Lake Ashinoko - Approx. 25-40 minute sightseeing cruise from Togendai-ko to Hakone-machi-ko/Moto-Hakone-ko. The Hakone scenery seen from the lake is completely beautiful. In the ship, 3D art and pirate objects, etc., can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
This sightseeing ship navigates Lake Ashi like a pirate ship! At present there are 3 different design pirate ships! Don’t miss prime spots with Mt. Fuji and the laketop torii gate of Hakone-jinja shrine both in the same view! As well as the views to be had around the lake, the details on the ship are also a sight not to miss!

  • Hakone Ropeway - The observation platform offers breathtaking views of ‘Owakudani’, Hakone’s most famous tourist spot. Desolate mountainside covered by plumes of smoke produce a distinct scene so fitting the area’s former name of Hell Valley. Now, the Hakone Ropeway rising above Owakudani. There are also many scenic spots to be seen from the ropeway. Traveling from Sounzan to Owakudani, passengers can see the bottom of the valley below, and, when on route to Togendai, they can enjoy views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi.

  • Owaku-dani Valley - If you take a glance over the vast, dreary piece of land, you’ll notice a white pillar of smoke rising from the bare surface of the mountain… Owakudani is one of most famous viewpoints in Hakone, where you can observe the intense volcanic activity from up close. It is said that this place came to be thanks to a phreatic eruption and pyroclastic flow that occurred almost 3000 years ago. The peculiar sulfur smell that spreads throughout the area was the reason behind its second name from the past, Jigokudani (Hell Valley). One of the local specialties is the “black eggs”, whose main trait is in the shells that turn black due to a chemical reaction with geothermal energy and volcanic gas. Head to this unique site using the ropeway, and enjoy a nice view of Hakone and Mt. Fuji along the way.

Additional Information

While there is intense rivalry for the title of Japan’s most gorgeous area, Hakone is a notable competitor. Hakone’s appeal as one of Tokyo’s most frequented and easily reachable excursions is no mystery. The allure lies in its renowned hot springs and predominantly unspoiled natural beauty. Plus, on a fortunate day, onlookers can catch an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji from a distance. Remarkably, Hakone remains considerably more tranquil, drawing city dwellers in need of a calm retreat during the weekends.
As this is a personal excursion, the agenda can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Experience a relaxing and effortless visit to Fuji and Hokone.
P.S Not all the places mentioned in the agenda can be visited within one day, but you can design your desired agenda with the assistance of the driver on the day of the tour.

Awesome experience. Sakib... - Awesome experience. Sakib was a fantastic tour guide! He gave us options of what we wanted to see but we gave him that job and he took us to the most beautiful places.

An unforgettable tour of Mount Fuji - My wife and I have visited Japan on five different occasions. We’ve often had passing glimpses of Mount Fuji from the window of a Shinkansen or tour bus. On this most recent family trip we decided to sign up with a guided tour offered by Viator, and was finally able to view Mount Fuji as we had dreamed. Our tour was greatly enhanced by our guide, Abbas, who was very nice, and did a great job finding us spectacular vistas of this sacred mountain. We even got to go on a speed boat tour on Lake Kawaguchikoi to get more unique views of Fuji. These are memories that will last a lifetime.

Fantastic day trip to Hakone and Mt Fuji. - There were so many memorable parts. We had perfect weather for viewing Mt Fuji. Some of the best parts were just seeing it from all different vantage points, taking the rope way down Hakone, and seeing the volcanic smoke coming out from the mountainside at Hakone.

Great Experience, Beautiful Views - Zaeden was the best guide we could ask for. He was very helpful and made this trip a great experience for my family and I. He is very professional and knowledgeable of the area, he made my whole family feel very comfortable during this whole experience. He took us to see some amazing views and was patient with us during this tour. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour and Zaeden.

Interesting trip but not to Hakone - The driver picked us up at our Hotel and took us to an old, yet scenic village at the foot of Mount Fuji and a temple with 400 Steps with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. He was more driver then guide so information was scarce and he did not go to Hakone as was shown.

Great day trip - Great day trip to leave Tokyo behind for some countryside. The driver explained in advance all the stops, timeline, etc. and followed it precisely. Lake cruise was very nice as well gondola rides. Great views. Then on to Fuji and more amazing photo opps.

Mt Fuji Saved the Day - The good things - the weather, the beauty of Mt Fuji and surrounding scenery. The not so good - the traffic, the lack of knowledge displayed by guide, the inability to actually get to the fifth station, Short stops with little information given, the inability of guide to converse adequately in English and a worrying trip back where driver appeared to be falling asleep at the wheel. Would not recommend this company.

Overpriced for the Experience - There were a couple mishaps during the experience and the description is misleading. Originally, we had selected an 8:00 AM departure to avoid some of the traffic. The night before, the tour operator messaged us that they couldn’t do 8:00 AM because they needed to rent a van and wouldn’t be able to depart until 8:30 AM at the earliest. On the day of the tour, ended up departing closer to 9:00 AM. Due to the amount of traffic, this inherently reduced time at each stop. Additionally the Hakone area was “closed” but this wasn’t communicated until the end of the tour. I wouldn’t so much call this a “private tour” as much as a private driver for the day since no information or history was relayed by our driver and their English was poor at best. Mt. Fuji is beautiful and the weather was great but I think for the price we paid, it seemed overpriced for what we received.

What you see, is not what you get! - We were very disappointed with this tour. You get attracted by many sightseeing wonders but it is actually impossible to see half of them as they are quite away from each other. Certainly beforehand you're warned that the program route may change depending on traffic, but honestly, even with no traffic it is not possible to see more than four different sites. Added to that, that the driver is just a driver and does not provide informative commentary about the destinations being visited, I cannot not advise it. At least, we got to see Mount Fuji, but that's thanks mother nature rather than the tour.

Terrible. - After booking the trip for 8 am. The particular tour operator driver asked if he can come earlier to avoid the traffic. We agreed and left earlier despite the inconvenience.. His English communication is very poor and he was not able to understand most of questions or concerns. When we asked if we can get breakfast at the first destination he said yes but took us to a place there is no restaurant. Then he insisted us to skip the entire lake hackone area as he told us everything is closed as per his friend. Dropped us at a mall and told us we can do the shopping and we did not challenge because we realized that nothing is going to work. We informed everything to the tour operator and told them not to mention anything until we return safely but they spoke to the driver in their own language (Hindi/Urdu) and driver got to know that we complained. It was a very bad experience and extremely unpleasant. Communication was so bad despite the fact we asked to provide a good one.
