Fabulous Fuji’s secret photo spots with the best private guide. - My daughter and I had the best day with Johnny. We communicated in advance via WhatsApp about itinerary and travel plans but beyond one daft thing that my daughter had seen on social media and wanted including (not out of the way at all), we left ourselves totally in Johnny’s hands. He collected us from the train station in his Nissan Cube and drove us for 6 hours around all the local temples and secret photo spots. He gave us interesting insights into the local area and taught us temple etiquette (it was our first full day in Japan and it came in handy for subsequent visits!) Johnny even took us to a local noodle joint for lunch. It was absolutely delicious and became a benchmark for price and quality for the remainder of our meals in Japan. Johnny was polite and courteous and a pleasure to hang out with for the day. He speaks perfect English, which isn’t surprising as a native speaker from his time in Canada, but he has the knowledge and experience of a local which he used to good effect on our tour. Johnny dropped us back at the station in plenty of time for our return train to Tokyo. Johnny took photos of us all day long and sent the link with the photos before we’d even made it back to our hotel. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Excellent value for money for a full day’s touring. We will be coming back with the rest of the family.

Best Fuji Trip Ever! - We loved participating in Johnny’s private day tour January 2024. We don’t have enough positive words for our experience with Johnny! He customized our tour based on our interests and created a magical day around Mt. Fuji. The day started with a view of a pagoda and Mt. Fuji, we then had a mochi snack and took a street view photo of Mt. Fuji. We visited the famous ponds village, Mt. Fuji shrine, and ate some delicious dipping ramen. Johnny took us to a secret spot for a breathtaking and unobstructed view of mt. Fuji, then hiked to a frozen waterfall, and had some incredible ice cream. We then went to the local forest where we saw the Dragon cave. The walk through the forest was so peaceful, you heard nothing but the sounds of the birds. The dragon cave is a spiritual cave where locals come to give their gratitude to Mother Nature. The tour ended with the ice cave; which was a climb down into a cave with frozen iceicles. We finished the day with Johnny dropping us off at a local onsen, where my partner and I were able to arrange a same day private onsen with a view of Mt. Fuji. Johnny was nice enough to pick us up afterwards before our bus back to Tokyo and dropped us off at our station. It has always been a dream of mine to see Mt. Fuji and Johnny made the day more magical than I had imaged. I would 100% book with his tour company again when in the Mt. Fuji area.

Book a tour with Johnny! Now! - Johnny was an amazing tour guide for our Mt Fuji holiday. He is: Funny and knowledgeable; Easy going and extremely accommodating; He speaks 3 languages - what a smart guy; Flexible and wanted us to have the best time we could; Friendly and caring; An all round great guy! He made sure we were safe and comfortable at all times and even stopped for snacks when we were hungry. We can’t recommend him enough. Honestly, don’t even think of doing another tour! Thank you Johnny for all the fun 🤩 and splitting our tour over two days so we could enjoy Mt Fuji in the sunshine and to experience the SNOW! We are very grateful to have met you.

An excellent tour - My family of 4 had the best private tour of Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko with Johnny. We loved that he’s a local who is fluent in English. We were happy to leave everything up to him as he was very personable and made sure our needs were met. He is super friendly, had great suggestions and he took us to secret photo locations, which my family loved. We even had stops for trying out different snacks. We look forward to coming back to the area and having Johnny take us on another tour.

Wonderful private tour - Johnny is an awesome tour guide! He is on-time, thoughtful, organized, flexible and well-informed of the local area. He is also GREAT with my 8-year-old daughter who still brings up Johnny in our conversations about the trip (our tour took place on Dec 16, 2023; I'm writing this review on Jan 8, 2024). The tour had just the right number of stops, each with decent amount of time, and the hidden gems are absolutely great! I am so glad that I spent the money on this private tour. If I ever come back to Mt Fuji/Kawaguchiko, I will definitely book a private tour with Johnny again, and I am defintiely recommending Johnny to friends and family who travel to area!

Great experience and very helpful and considerate guy - First of all, our tour setup was bit different than the normal. We did this trip with our 11 months old boy and we did not have much time to plan everything. Initially, I thought we could do the whole trip using the red line bus (public transport) but as we landed on Japan and saw the crowd (mostly tourist) at major tourist places, we realized it will be very difficult for us. I reached out to Johnny through email but unfortunately by that time he was fully booked. When I told him about the situation, he gave us one option - to take the tour with his friend who was still in training. Since we already knew the places we would like to visit, it worked out great for us. I did consult with Johnny about the places we wanted to visit and if the weather and time will permit those. He gave us some good suggestions and feedback. Both Johnny and his friend came to train station to pick us up (thank god they did, it was raining and we did not have an umbrella) and we discussed how we should modify our schedule due to the rain. They also had a car seat for our little one :D We had lunch and the weather was great by the time we were done. Johnny had another customer but we met at major tourist locations and we texted back and forth if we had any questions. His friend was very accommodating also and even entertained our little one so that we could take some couple pictures :D I can not express how helpful this was for us. Over all, we had a great trip that ended around 5:30PM, and our guide was going to drop us at our airbnb after letting us do some groceries. Unfortunately, I made mistake with booking date and we did not have a place to stay that night. This is when Johnny went above and beyond to help us out. After dropping off his other customer, he picked us up, waited until we got another hotel for the night, took us to do groceries in a super market and finally, dropped us at our new hotel. I can not express how helpful this was for us in foreign country. I would recommend his tour to anyone who visits Kawaguchiko. Given the small amount of time we had, I think his suggestions based on what we wanted to see and enjoy in Kawaguchiko were perfect!

Wonderful time in Mount Fuji - Like many foreigners, i am confused with the transportation in Japan especially in Mount Fuji area with the trains, buses and the long Q. So lucky that we found Jonny which is one of the few local english speaking tour guides. He drove us around to all the attractions (not mentioning his secret spots which avoided the crowd) and even took photos for us. We were not expecting to do a lot here initially but ended up being the highlight of our Japan trip. Thanks for the wonderful experience u provided for our father and son moment. Arigato !

well-curated, private tour - Johnny brought us to the familiar tourist spots in the first part of the tour, and we were just about 30 minutes ahead of the crowd. Then, we had an early soba lunch in a restaurant that catered to the locals. After that, he took us to some spots that we got to enjoy by ourselves - away from the crowds. I liked the flexibility and Johnny's ability to tailor-fit the itinerary according the specific interests of individuals in the group.

Best Tour EVER!!!! - I had an amazing day with Johnny! He is such a fun and likeable guy, and very accomodating. He contacted me several days prior to the tour date and even picked me up from the bus station. I got to see some amazing places, hidden gems and beautiful photo spots. Having a private tour allows you to move at your own pace and focus on your interests. I would recommend a tour with Johnny to anyone looking to elevate their travel experience and create lasting memories. THANK YOU Johnny!! 😊

Well worth it!! - We hopped on a bus from Tokyo and did a day trip to Mt. Fuji/Lake Kawaguchiko. He picked us up at Kawaguchiko Station. Fluent in English, he asked what we wanted to see. We told him to show us the best places to visit, “Omakase style”. We went to iconic destinations plus his “secret spots”, 8 locations in total. It was a last minute decision to come, so he gave us advice on which routing is best to get to Lake Kawaguchiko. Can’t say enough of Johnny. Very personable, funny, attentive to your needs and professional. Stay away from the large tour groups and secure his services. It was a memorable tour. Many thanks, Johnny!
