Additional Information
Spend an exciting day in Fukuoka with your host and explore Japan’s gateway to Asia together. Take in some of the city’s main sites, like Fukuoka Castle or follow your feet to an obscure neighborhood. Take some time out to enjoy a meal at a yakai (street food stand) - we’d recommend the Hakata ramen, because well, it’s simply the best.
Within 24 hours after booking you’ll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you’ll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

A memorable day in Fukuoka - We had only a few hours in Fukuoka so arranged a private tour with Shino. What a great decision!! We met at the train station and went directly to the Reclining Buddha which was our priority. And it was impressive. Then we visited the Tocho-ji Temple with the amazing wooden Buddha, walked through Hakata old town and Canal City culminating in a delicious ramen lunch. Shino is the best guide, her English is wonderful and her knowledge of Fukuoka and Japan in general is impressive. Thank you Shino for a truly beautiful day.

Very good sightseeing trip with a local guide. - Ai is our guide for the sightseeing trip in Fukuoka. She has great love in this city, and is more than willing to share with us the local knowledge. She makes our trip more enjoyable.

Great 4 Hour Walking Tour - Eli was a great tour guide showing us the places that we had pre-arranged to see. We were able to see everything that we desired to see plus some other sites that we did not know about. We did not know about the giant Yamakasa Float that we were able to see near the Kushida Shrine and also hear about how it is used. We also were shown the old style Japanese houses on the way to the Kushida Shrine. The Japanese Garden in Ohori Park was a hidden gem that Eli showed us. Eli made sure that we found our bus back to the cruise ship at the end of our tour. Our time in Fukuoka was greatly enhanced by our tour with Eli at City Unscripted.

Great walking tour! - Fantastic tour by Bruce! I enjoyed walking around Fukuoka and taking in the sites. He took me to an amazing Tonkatsu Restaurant and I’m already drooling for more! The Fukuoka tower was another highlight of the tour with great views of the city. Highly recommend!

Outstanding guide in Fukuoka - Mike was a sensational guide and did whatever we suggested taking us up the Tower for a view of the City then on to the old and new parts of the city, explaining and showing in detail how the Old Town is transformed during Yamakasa festival then showing the new Acros "green building" in modern town as well as the fascinating Engineer Cafe.
It was easy to communicate with Mike as he had a USA and Japanese background. I would highly recommend him as a tour guide and more as he has such extensive knowledge of Japan

cultural experience in Fukuoka - Learnt so much Japanese culture during the tour. Mr Yutaro shared a lot of cultures in Japan and took us to many popular spots and explained along the tour. recommend!

Great fukuoka scenery - Yutaro is very nice, polite, and knowledgeable. I took amazing photos and videos. I recommend him as a tour guide. I also recommend trip advisor. They are a very serious and professional company.

Excellent time touring Fukuoka Japan - Wonderful day touring Fukuoka with Yu. He was so much fun, incredibly knowledgeable of the area and great insight into Japanese culture & heritage. Wonderful first tour in Japan. Yu helped us how to navigate bus, train & subway lines and really put us at ease!
