Fun horse riding day - It was such a beautiful day. The horse riding was so much fun and lunch was amazing. Only thing I would say is that English wasn’t really spoken. Luckily we had another tourist translate for us

Riding like a gaucho girl in the pampas - I picked this excursion because I wanted riding to be the primary focus and because I wanted to be able to trot and canter. Everything else was secondary. Correspondence was great from initial contact to arranging private transportation. Santiago who spoke perfect English picked me up as arranged at my hostel. The journey to Carlos Keen took a little over an hour . Carlos Keen is a small little village . Likewise the stable at the end of the road was small too. But my horse Chimango was great so responsive and eager to run. Marcelo my gaucho was friendly and helpful and I had a wonderful opportunity to practice my Spanish as we rode through the pampas.. Rode for three hours in the morning. Then had a classic Argentinian meal of asado, choripán, grilled by Emilio and served with some wine. After the meal mounted up again rode through the little village exploring with more chances to run. Finished off the day by sharing maté in true Argentinian fashion. The only negative was the mosquitoes ( the repellent provided did help). Some areas were worse than others but apparently this is not the norm. I would recommend this outing for experienced riders and people wanting an authentic experience. I absolutely loved my day out in the pampas being a gaucho girl.

You should totally do this!!! - I absolutely loved this. Unlike other tours you actually get to spend a good amount of time on a horse. The use a very different type of saddle than I am used to and it was more comfortable than most of the Dalles I have been in. The food was delicious and so was the wine. They really went out of the way to make sure I had a good time.

An expensive and far away excursion but great people - This excursion was pretty expensive but we were hoping that it would be worth it. It was an hour and a half trip to get to the farm, and even longer to get home due to traffic. The ride itself was long and the terrain was all pretty boring. There are two reasons why this was enjoyable - the people and the horses. Every person we met was incredibly nice and so warm. The woman who seems to be the farm owner, our guide, and the man who welcomed us in for a warm lunch. They were all lovely. And the horses were so beautiful and sweet. Overall, this would have been a much better experience had it been less expensive and closer to the city.
