A woman in her 60s goes rafting for the first time - My first rafting trip was on the Zambezi River, the world's most rapid river! It was a 24km, 4-hour course. At the briefing session beforehand, they said that if the boat flips over and you are swept away by the rapids, they will throw you a rope, so you have to grab it, otherwise you won't be rescued! I thought, "What?", but I'm already in my 60s, and if I don't try this time, next time I'll be in my 70s and won't be able to do it physically, so I decided to try it. My Zambian friend, who is the same age as me, was waiting for me at the hotel, and she had already tried it. As she said, "You should definitely try it," it was a wonderful experience that I will never forget. After returning to Japan this year, I applied for the Yoshino River rafting level 2, 1-hour course, but I was turned down because the age limit was 60 years old or older. Even though the Zambezi River rafting level was 6.

No Brainer - Once in a life time experience. Don’t miss this opportunity to get wet, down and dirty….… Don’t decide to miss out on rapid #7. The guides were very experienced, friendly, informative and helpful.

Absolutely fantastic rafting... Phenomenal guides - This company provided professional and very safety conscious guides. We had a day of rafting with JB, Charles, Winston Jnr, Arthur and TP. Before we managed to get onto the rapids, one of the people in our group required a last minute medical retrieval. The team worked very hard to get him safely removed from the gorge. Once we were on the river, the team were extremely good, with 2 guides in kayaks providing reassurance by being present nearby, and JB and the team on the raft being exceptional, especially after we capsized on a Grade 5 rapid. Further members of the team had our dry shoes waiting for us at the end, as well as bottles of water. The lunch provided was also very very delicious! Thanks guys!!

Thrilling and challenging - Had a wonderful time with these guys. They were professional and organised and had our safety in mind at all times. The rapids were amazing and just rafting along the Zambezi was beautiful too. Beware the walk down and up is very challenging!!Thanks guys for looking after two women old enough to know better.

White Water rafting on the Zambezi - Fantastic rafting day on the Zambezi, a Grade 5 river. Went as group of 9 including 4-5 very nervous participants and we had a great experience. Our guide (Sugga ?) was fantastic, very skilled and took account of the nerves. We didn't flip and no-one cam off - but be prepared for it. The kayakers supporting us we great too. It was challenging but great fun. A good hike up at the end to lunch and some beers. Highly recommended.

Aaaaaaaah and Oooooooooh - We did the White Water Rafting and the Upper Zambezi River Canoing. Both activities staff was really awesome, meaning: knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and experts. The White Water Rafting through the19 rapids/falls was tough and would I do it again: NEVER! Did I regret is: NO! The canoing was a totally different experience with another level of excitement. Would I do that again: DEFINITELY YES!

Canoeing great!.....elephant safari GREATER!! - We did a couple of activities through this company, and they were great on every occasion. We had a package booked through Batoka Safaris and this included Canoeing the Zambezi, and also an Elephant Trek. Our party of 6 thought the canoe experience was great, if not a little daunting. Thankfully, our 2 guides, Norman and Misheck took a lady each, (me being one of them, thank God! - I kid you not, this would have saved my marriage! ;-) They were fantastic guiding us all throughout our safari, and even taking on several rapids! We loved it!! Misheck was really knowledgeable about the wildlife we were encountering, and they were both lovely and engaging. Not being the fittest athletes, we found the last 5 to 10 minutes of the ride a bit hard.....but I'm sure younger and fitter participants would sail through. The breakfast and lunch they served was really nice too. Thanks guys!! And thanks to our driver, Figo, who followed us all the way down the river from the shore. Our other experience was an elephant trek, and being the elephant tragic I am - WE LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT! I instantly connected with Dumbo, the largest of our elephants (sadly for my husband), and we were ably guided by Happy, our Doona (I hope I've spelt that right!) What beautiful animals, and lovely people! Again, we had a very nice brekky served before our trek. I'd recommend Adventure Zone to anyone visiting Victoria Falls area.
