Additional Information

We begin at a local shop synonymous for their quality donuts––Do-Rite Donuts. From there we’ll walk the Randolph corridor, learning about the history of Chicago’s West Loop, a historic neighborhood which has gone through a series of revitalizations since its days as the industrial backbone of the City of Big Shoulders. We’ll sample the wacky, matcha-infused creations of a hidden-gem––Matcha-Cita cafe, where you’ll definitely need to pause for a photo-op! We’ll enjoy the over-the-top donut stylings of a newcomer shop trying to break onto the scene, Voodoo Donuts, a Portland transplant featuring indulgent flavors and unexpected toppings. Finally, we’ll stroll through a magical, old-time brickwork alley laden with beautiful, floral street-art, before emerging at Sawada Coffee, owned by the world renown latte artist, Hiroshi Sawada. Throughout our journey, we’ll provide anecdotes and history of each of the locations, the surrounding neighborhood as well as Chicago history in general.

Discovering Hidden Gems in the West Loop - Emely was a great guide! I was in town for a work trip, and was looking for something to do on my day off. I've visited Chicago before, but was unfamiliar with this particular area. She took us to four distinctly different locations, and I loved that no two places had the same offerings. The tour itself was around two hours long, and was a nice walking pace with a reasonable two miles. I learned a lot of interesting facts about the city while getting to taste some delicious treats - a real win win! The tour started at the only location I'd heard of (I've been to a different location of theirs), and one other I knew about from other cities. Two were delightful locations that I never would have been able to find on my own. I highly recommend this tour to people from out of town, or even for locals who might want to find out a little more about the city they love.

Donuts and Parking Help In The City - This was a great and fun way to eat breakfast. The donuts were delicious and our tour guides were fantastic. The biggest lifesaver for me (which I used for the duration of our visit to Nashville) was the SpotHero app/site for parking locations and pricing suggested by the tour’s website.

Fun city donut adventure - Jackson is a stand-up guy. Donuts were yum, tour was fun and informative. In fact, Jackson puts the fun in fun facts. The route was scenic and very doable with plenty of chances for bathroom breaks/rest stops. The tour ends near the mag mile and is super close to Starbucks reserve which is worth checking out!

Super FUN Mike! - So MUCH FUN!! Please request Mike with the Moustache as your guide! Ask for the story about the farm animal and the Chicago Cubs! We had a blast walking around the Loop and getting 4 different types of donuts from wonderful shops! Mike made the time fly by keeping us with smiles from ear to ear. He has so much information to share and is an absolute delight! I highly recommend you spend a few hours with Mike and enjoy some sweetness!

The Purple Donut - Mike with moustache was full of knowledge. he talked about Chicago history as if he were the mayor. My sister and I tasted four donuts our favorite one was purple. Also ask Mike the moustache about Murphy the goat. Best activity in Chicago.
