Wonderful experience - Very complete tour of the eastern part of the island. Our Guide Luca was friendly and very pedagogue. He made us discover wonderful places with breathtaking views! A short easy walk of 40 minutes allowed us to visit the forest and its inhabitants birds. Plan to cover yourself well because the mountain peaks are very windy.

A very nice tour with lots of info and little stress - It was a super nice, fun and educational day. We were picked up directly from our hotel. With the three of us were another three Germans, and a mother and her daughter from France on the bus, so a total of 8 people plus driver/guide Diego, who always called us "Family" when he had important information for us. Diego unfortunately had to reschedule a bit because of the points still closed that day because of the fires, but that didn't stop the whole thing. Unfortunately, the stop at Pico Do Areero was cancelled, but we gained extra time at the other stops. Diego entertained us with his really entertaining and very likeable manner with a lot of local and especially plant knowledge (from his grandmother!) throughout the tour either in English, or fluent in French for the two ladies from France who could not get out of laughter. The stops on the tour have all been great, but also very touristy: On the short but beautiful Levada Walk, two large TUI coaches had already been spat out shortly before us, which is why there was a huge crowd at the lookout point. At the Miradouro do Guindaste the crowd got a little lost, but here too the small reversible plate was fully parked with buses and jeeps, big and small. In Sant'ana Diego showed us some original houses in the village before we were released for lunch and strolling. At the market place was a weekly market with great stalls with local fruits and vegetables. We found the open-air museum a little disappointing, because here only houses were recreated and this was then also every (!) occupied with a shop for Touri' things. Here we found the house, which is built at a restaurant at the beginning of the village, really most beautiful because it was fully furnished inside.. In Porto da Cruz we could visit the still, where Diego gave us a short tour and let us taste the rum. Again, we took advantage of the free time and watched the surfers in the bay. On the last stop in Sao Lourenco we also had enough time to experience the completely different landscape at the eastern end of the island: Red dry soil and lots of wind, but a great view before Diego dropped us off at our hotels again. All in all, a very great tour, which we would always prefer to rent a car of our own: no stress, lots of information and you don't have to find a parking space anywhere yourself - because this tour to the most popular places on the island is really no fun.

Great Tour of the East! - This was an amazing tour made even more special by our excellent tour guide, Diogo. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. We were taken to a number of scenic locations where we were given time to explore. We even had the opportunity to have an authentic Madeiran meal. Overall, great enjoyable tour!

Recommend, well worth your time! - Took the east side tour and were really happy that we did so. The tour was on a minibus of 8 people and the driver/guide was excellent. We were not so lucky with the weather as rain poured down on the east side that day, but the guide was coming up with places with less rain and things to see and do, so we were really happy. If you are considering the east side tour, this is a good option.

An experience at the top! - Unforgettable moments! We booked the east and west tours of the island and are more than happy! Being unable to rent a car, we were able to enjoy the places in all corners of the island. We thank Diego who was professional and humorous, it made our stay all the more memorable! Thanks again, we recommend 1000%
