Moving on, we visit the historic town of Machico, which ranks as the island’s second most frequented destination. We then proceed to Ponta de Sao Lourenco, the most eastern tip of Madeira, a nature reserve featuring scenic vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. Our journey continues to Porto da Cruz, a quaint village on Madeira’s northeastern terrain, housing a Rum distillery for us to explore. Up next is Faial, a charming village nestled on the island’s northeast seashore. We then pause for lunch in Santana, a delightful village famed for its vibrant, triangular cottages; we’ll spend roughly 2 hours here for a meal and a tour around the town. Post-lunch, we descend to Ribeiro Frio, a natural park nestled in a secluded valley in the island’s north. Finally, we wrap up with Pico do Arieiro, the island’s third tallest summit.
