Visitors can take a short walk through the forest called “Vereda dos Balcões” (entrance fee not included), although this walk may be unavailable due to weather conditions. Additionally, the village offers a visit to the fish hatchery (entrance fee not included).
- Fortress of Faial - A stunning seaside location offering breathtaking views of the valleys and the Eagle’s Nest massif.
- Santana - Famous for its traditional houses with triangular, straw-covered roofs. It’s a delightful place to explore and experience the culture of Madeira. This is also the designated lunch break (not included).
- Miradouro da Portela - This viewpoint provides excellent views of Faial, Porto da Cruz, and the Eagle’s Nest massif.
- Ponta de São Lourenço - The easternmost point of the island, known for its unique rock formations and vegetation.
- Machico - The first settlement of Portuguese colonists in 1419, located in a broad valley, offering plenty to explore.

Great day out - Fabulous day out with Rafael our guide in a comfortable 8 seater minibus. He quickly made the 3 couples and single man feel like a family. Great sights and not rushed as we took in the breathtaking scenery. The group comprised Welsh, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and we bonded very well as Rafael recognised when to tell us important facts but also letting us talk. Great and inexpensive whole day out.

Fantastic Guide - Really enjoyed this tour Raphael our guide was so informative about the places that we stopped and the flowers that we came across he was a really lovely man who seemed to enjoy his job 😀

Another memorable fabulous day spent in Madeira. - Driver knew island extremely well and explained a lot.
Mini bus felt new and had a powerful engine so driving up all the steep twisty roads was not a problem.
We had perfect weather, blue skies clear visibility.

A grand day out - Great trip with friendly and knowledgeable guide. The scenery was stunning and the trip ended almost in another world having driven through the clouds to the top of Pico do Arieiro 1,810 metres above sea level.

Wonderful island! - Thanks a lot to DG Travel for interesting, well organized tours! I did with them East Tour, West Tour, and the levada Ribeiro Frio-Portela. Always punctual, the guides are professional, knowledgeable, funny. Got a lot of information about the island, stunning views and amazing photos! Highlights of East Coast - Great full day trip giving you a taster of each stop. Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Lunch was extra but great value. Some spectacular views of this great island which I wouldn’t have known about.

East coast trip - All in all an excellent trip with a very knowledgeable driver.
Would have liked longer on pico (1st stop) and less 20-30 mins stop’s for photos (5-10 mins would be long enough for photos)
Thelevada walk was lovely but it would have been better to have time for coffee at the end of the walk.

Discussing guide - Appaling guide. Drove as if was on a rally with 12 passengers stuffed in a small van, then SHOUTED and poked fingers at a passenger when she dared ask a question. Left one of the passengers at a location when she was a bit late. Then found her on a road. Moody, nasty, walked in filthy trousers which were not washed for at least a week. Rude. The man needs a new job. Disgraceful. We paid to get a nice day, on a holiday and got this clown to insult us
