Very pleasant but maybe too fast - We went on this walk with Benny. He was thoughtful and helpful as he led us around the mountain. The only issue I had was that there were 2 younger women that wanted to go fast and they went ahead of Benny. He was trying to keep us all together so we were walking probably faster then usual and made the walk in record time. Not sure if this was a good thing because we lost some of the experience of absorbing the surroundings.

Highly recommended, wonderful nature! - Wonderful! You should be lazy, get up early (maybe skip the hotel breakfast) and take the bus to Ribeiro Frio at 8 a.m. You are guaranteed to be hiking alone or almost alone. After 10 a.m. the paths are full. The hike is pretty easy and suitable for almost everyone. A few narrow places - people with a fear of heights might turn back - otherwise very good paths with safety devices. Very pretty. Most of it is downhill. In Portela I had to wait an hour for the bus to Funchal. The hiking time was 3.5 hours for me (quite a slow pace). At the beginning you can look at the trout farm, which is worth it - then at the end the waiting time is shorter). Highly recommended!

Easy and enjoyable - Sara was an amazing tour leader! She took us through the forest path and explained a lot about the plants and history or the levadas. The bus was very comfortable and the walk very enjoyable and easy 😊 recommend this trip and tour

Two great guided tours. Highly recommended. - This is definitely the company to use for a guided tour great booking, on time pick up and great guide. We normally prefer to walk solo but the levada walk we felt needed a guide We were not disappointed. Small group. Mixed nationality We loved it

Winter lavada walk in the laurel forest - A great hike through the Madeiran forest in winter. Lots of mud and water and the odd shower of rain added to the adventure. We were guide expertly by Charlotte safely to our destination.

Scary Riberio Frio levada walk - There is ony one route for this. Although rated as 1 out of 3 for vertigo, this was quite scary with the drops. One of our group slipped a foot and it almost went under the metal small wires (luckily the other foot held). You had to put one foot ahead of another in a couple of places where there was NOT room for both feet side by side. The 25 foutains Rabacal, although graded as more 3 /3 vertigo, had lots of options and was less of a great drop on one side.
