Fantastic scenery and fun - Fantastic experience, Francesco was a really informative guide and also an excellent driver! I would highly recommend this if you want to see Madeira from its highest point, and have a fun off road experience. We also enjoyed driving through smaller villages and towns.

A grwat morning out! - The trip was excellent and I would recommend it. We really covered a lot in the time. Unfortunately there was cloud cover at the top of Pico Do Arieiro but we saw so much of the wonderful scenery around Funchal. We followed a different route on the day we did our tour due to the heavy rain and high winds we had had in the previous day meaning not all of the roads were open. Rui our guide was very knowledgeable about the history and the natural environment of the local area. Our highlight of the tour was Nuns Valley with its beautiful scenery. Being in a 4x4 vehicle lets you see far more than you would on a coach trip and having a guide makes it far more interesting than driving from place to place in a hire car ( plus you don’t have to worry about parking). My main tip for the trip would be to make sure you take an extra layer or two of clothing as it can get chilly at higher altitudes, particularly if there is cloud cover.

Great fun - The trip was excellent, covering a lot in the time. A great way to see the island and its dramatic landscape. The guide Rui explained everything very well with excellent English, telling us about the history and showing us the nature. An advantage of a jeep is that it can go on the smaller roads and off road, showing a parts of the island you can't get to by car or coach. I would highly recommend this trip as you come back having had a fun time and a great experience.

Great experience - Great half day out. We were picked dup by Franco our driver and guide from our air bnb. We we headed out of Funchal to the look out point and the beginning of our tour. Nuns valley is stunning, we stopped at a lovely cafe and had coffee and pastries, all things chestnut, which were delicious. Then onwards we climbed high to the second highest peak and the highest one accessible by road. The scenery is stunning. Take a jumper it can get chilly. We arrive back about 14.00 so maybe take some snacks or lunch with you. We also managed a stop for Poncha the traditional Madeiran drink.

Incredible Views - We had so much fun on this tour with our incredible guide. He knew so much history about the island and kept us entertained the entire time. The views of the island on this tour are absolutely breathtaking. The off roading portion is only about a half hour but super fun. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island!

with husband - Statue of Christ the King. We arrived at the car park by car and did not make the climb on foot. We took a break at the nearby bar.
