Highlights

Cabo Girao - At Cabo Girão, you get a breathtaking sea views from the observation platform. At an altitude of 580 meters, it’s the highest cape in Europe and the second in the world.
Ribeira Brava - At the village of Ribeira Brava, you will be able to visit the beautiful church of São Bento and enjoy the sea views.
Paul da Serra - Paul da Serra is the largest plateau of the island.
Porto Moniz - We do our main stop at Porto Moniz at around lunchtime. Here you can pick from a number of local restaurants, bars, or enjoy the beautiful natural swimming pools.
Ribeira da Janela - Observe the great valley of Ribeira da Janela as we continue towards the Village of Porto Moniz where we arrive at around lunch time.
Seixal - Seixal, where at the Véu da Noiva viewpoint you can appreciate the great waterfall and the old roads along the cliffs.
ER228 - On our way back, we stop at the viewpoint of Encumeada at the top of a mountain where you have a beautiful overall view of both the north and south coast of the island.

Enjoy the remarkable vistas at Cabo Girão, Europe’s tallest cape standing at a height of 1,900 feet (580 meters), before reaching the vibrant town of Ribeira Brava.

Wander through the town, taking in the stunning São Bento church, then proceed north traversing the striking landscape of the Paul da Serra plateau.

Embark on a picturesque journey around the northwest coastline, navigating through the valley of Ribeira da Janela, then make your way to Porto Moniz in time for a break, either for lunch or a swim in a natural pool. Your next stop is Seixal, where the Véu da Noiva viewpoint provides magnificent views of the adjacent cliffs and waterfalls.

On your return to Funchal, pause for a photo opportunity at the Encumeada viewpoint, followed by a drive through the UNESCO-recognized landscapes of the Laurissilva forest.

Great day out - recommended - We really enjoyed this tour and it took us to quite a few sights that would have been tricky to get to without a hire car. The minibus we had was comfortable and air conditioned. The highlight of the day was the volcanic pools at Porto Moniz - the guide gave us two hours there so we had plenty of time for a swim. The guide was good and the organisation from the company was smooth.

A great introduction to the Island of Madeira - We had toyed with hiring a car for the day, but instead opted for the ‘best of the west’ from Lido tours. I’m so pleased we did. Smart, new tour buses. A very knowledgeable guide in Oscar and great choice of stop offs, some planned and some that seemed like a spur of the moment thing. It was a well planned agenda with everything running like clockwork. For us the highlights were the 600 metre skywalk at Cabo Girao and swimming in the natural pools at Porto Muniz in the north of the island. 100% recommend

Exceptional day - Excellent day, our driver was very engaging and knowledgeable enuring all passengers were happy and safe. The mini coach was spotlessly clean and in a new condition. We learned a lot about Maderia whilst on our tour. Good value for money.

Wonderful day out - We had a fantastic day with Bruno our tour guide. Pick up was smooth. Bruno was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He kept us entertained along the route to the west coast. The salt pools were definitely the highlight of the tour and the other places that we stopped off were very lovely. It was a great way to see more of the island in a day. We would highly recommend it. Madeira is a beautiful island full of beautiful people.

Americans take on Madiera ! 10/10 - Our group of 6 from the US had been traveling around Portugal for a week, our last stop was madiera. We booked this excursion the day before and IT did NOT disappoint!! Our driver Edward was hilarious and so knowledgeable we had the most amazing time. There is no way we could of seen the island in any other way. HIgHly recommend this tour.

The island of tranquility... - 4×4 tours are one of the best experiences to get inside the island. Our tour of the Northwest, for the day, with spectacular views, a meal in a small restaurant where the artisans of the island come to eat... Bus tour for the day also, from the Southwest, very nice with a great guide...

Very good. - Loved Cabo Girao and the waterfall at Seixal especially. Lovely views all around. Disappointed that we didn't go to the viewpoint of Encumaeda to see the North and south side of the island on 228 road which was in the description of the - that was one of my reasons for choosing this trip!
