Great cruise excursion - We had a great tour with Bruno. He easily switched back and forth between three languages. Our ship came in second, so it was confusing for us to finding the taxi stand which is at front by first ship. Don't buy Madeira wine or Puncho from last road side stop. I think you can find better in grocery stores. Would recommend this tour for cruise stop.

Very enjoyable. The guide... - Very enjoyable. The guide was so knowledgeably about the areas and places we visited and shared his humour .We were the only English on the trip but the guide moved from German to English commentary with out hesitation. Would definitely recommend this trip

Highly recommended! - With Bruno (Mafiosi😜) guide along the west coast - highly informative, very entertaining and with great time allocation. Highly recommended for everyone not to rent a car but really want to see it from the island.

Way Out West. - THIS was a great tour with a great driver, Gloria, who took us through some amazing scenery. There was everything through the day from giant coastal rocks and soaring sea cliffs to a chance to step out on to a glass walkway over a 2,000ft drop or visit a village where Winston Churchill used to come to paint. Be aware that this is a minibus tour which tries to offer something for everyone. It provided stops in villages, little ports, viewpoints, scenic spots and Gloria drip fed us local history and explained a lot so we could make sense of what we were looking at. It was a highly interesting way to get snapshots of the west of Madeira with the help of an experienced guide who knew how to handle Madeira's notorious roads. Definitely worth trying this all day escape which was good value for money.

Good way of seeing the island - Good trip, we were picked up at our hotel and then one further stop and the mini bus was full. The guide then informed us that he was changing the order of the itinerary as there were three cruise ships in post and that would mean congestion, really informative and interesting , even though it was a full day the time passed quickly. We would recommend this tour.

Great trip excellent driver. - This is a trip well worth taking. The driver/guide NUNO was excellent. He was knowledgeable Funny and had the patience of a saint . This was needed due to other members of the group who returned late at all the stops . Keeping everyone waiting.

Awful - don’t use Lido Tours - Awful!! Firstly don’t be deluded into thinking you are going where they advertise - they seem to make it up as they go along. They advertised that we would go through a fishing village (Camara de Lobos) - we didn’t. They list Seixal on the brochure - we didn’t go!! On return when I complained they said we saw it from a viewpoint (through a crack in a hedge). I can see the moon from my house - that does not mean I have been!! The driver we had just waffled nonsense all day - he just liked the sound of his voice. Favourite comment was “avocados come in 3 sizes….. small, medium and large” and there was me thinking there was a specific scientific name for the sizes of avocados!! Another “it’s raining - look the road is wet”. Or playing spot the stray dog was endless hours of entertainment- not!! Or having every possible banana, orange, apple tree pointed out!! As for the stops we did make - having missed the picturesque Camara de Lobos we stopped (for 35 mins!) in the most god forsaken place called Ribeira Brava - honestly no idea why - we bought some sweets and found a wall to sit on for 30 mins. The highlight was going to the public toilets and have one of the local ladies pull her trousers down outside in full view for all to see. Nobody batted an eye in Ribeira Brava!! Next stop was 20 mins at a breeze block toilet with some view - 15 mins too long. Then we got to Porto Moniz (rock pools - lovely) BUT we stayed for 1 hour 45 mins. We visited rock pools, had lunch, went for a coffee, went for another coffee…,ridiculous length of time when only one attraction (lunch does not take that long). Oh and beware the hovel of a restaurant the driver recommends - clearly he gets a freebie - MUCH nicer restaurants elsewhere. We then stopped at a couple of waterfall - nice but given you can not actually walk to them you can only look from afar the 20 mins allocated is ridiculous. It’s clear that you could actually do the entire island in one tour but they choose not to (2 separate tours so more money for them) and make every stop too long. Oh and just be wary on the pick up point - they send you an email telling you where to meet and give you a “dropped pin”- this was not actually where we were picked up. One man never turned up for our tour - I suspect he was standing at the pin location so never found the bus. All in all- lovely island - awful tour. Don’t use Lido unless you want to be bored to tears!!
