Great food, drinks and information on this top notch tour - Fantastic day with the wonderful Ana Luisa, our very knowledgeable and fun tour guide. Our day included seven stops which included a great variety of traditional Madeiran food and drink. Our first stop was a full lunch, and we followed this with stops for traditional Madieran fruit, wine, chocolate, tea and pastry, poncha, traditional cake and cookies, and finished with cheese and more wine. On top of this we enjoyed an extensive discussion of Madeiran history and culture. This tour is an easy five stars and is jam packed with food, drink, and information. In particular the full lunch, the chocolates, and tea at a very nice tea shop, were highlights for us, although all the stops were great.

Tastes that will intrigue and make you want to search for the recipes! - Ana made us feel welcome and shared a lot of information. Was interesting and insightful. The various tastes were well chosen, presented with care and tasted wondeful. A culinary experience worth doing Highly recommended!

A tour you will not leave hungry - Really great tour. Anna was an excellent guide and the choice of food was superb, especially the 3 course lunch. Really good value for money.

Thursday afternoon in Funchal - Anna Luisa gave us an excellent tour of the middle of Funchal. Starting with the tea on Columbo Square, the fish and food on Rua dos Murcas, more wine and education about Madeira Wine at Peroli vinho. Queijaria for cheese and more wine (cheese from the Azores), from there more cookies and cake at Fabrica Santo Antonio, the Market for a taste of fruit of the island and finally Poncha and Rei de Poncha. Excellent discussion and a brief stop at Se Catedral do Funchal to extend our education. An excellent four hours spent walking within Funchal.

Food walking tour of Funchal - Highly recommend as good combination of food, drink and local history. Our guide, Anna, was very friendly and knowledgeable as she guided us through Funchal. We found it enjoyable and good value given the trip lasted a full 4 hours and included all food and drinks.

Excellent - Such a lovely day. Our guide Mara was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The food was great, all stops very well organised, we got to try food and drinks we wouldn't have known about at all. Will certainly be going back to revisit all of them again. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Good way to discover local food and drinks. - Lovely walk around Funchal learning about local food and drinks. We were lucky to have a lovely bunch of Canadians on our tour who had done far more research prior to their visit to Madeira than we had! Good way to spend an afternoon if you are new to the island.

Unorganized food tour - The tour guide Anna Louisa was very nice. Other than that the tour was very unorganized and within a very small section of the city. Every stop we made it seemed as though we were a surprise. Lots of arguing between the tour guide and shop owners. Too much sitting around and not much wine. If you have an afternoon to kill then I would suggest it. If time is of the essence than I would go elsewhere

Not worth it! - This was a poorly planned food tour. It was 4 hours and should have been 2. Lots of just waiting around and the pace of the guide was sooo slow. The food was okay - but not a good representation of the food in Funchal. Don’t recommend this tour.
