Great experience! Anytime again! - We had booked a private 8h tour with Spencer. That was a great experience! Everything worked out very well. Whether booking, confirmation, hotel pickup or the entire tour itself.
We learned a lot about the country and people and Spencer made us great suggestions about where we might want to go.
We would definitely go back on tour with Madeira Insideout and Spencer. Really recommended if you want a tour more for yourself. Clearly a very high pleasure factor!

Just wow!!! - Wow! What a wonderful experience. A great day with Spencer, so much learned and experienced and incredibly seen. We have been to Madeira twice before and have nevertheless rediscovered the island today. Learned a lot about plants, culture and life here and enjoyed mad views. This tour is worth every penny!!! Anyway, I would do that again. Not comparable to other tours we tested. If there were 6 stars, I would give them too.

Exceeded ALL Expectations - This tour turned out infinitely better than we ever hoped! Spencer is an amazing tour guide. Personable and down to earth. Lots of stories and history. And thanks to his wife, he was able to tell us tons about the local flora & fauna. Worth every penny to get away from the hordes of tourists.

Private Jeep Expedition with the best guide - Spencer from Madeira Insideout picked us up at our hotel. The chemistry was right. We have seen and learned an incredible amount. It was a lot of fun, so even the rain didn't bother us. You can't experience this on your own if you're not an insider. The tour was worth every cent and we will definitely recommend it. Tailored Day Tour - We had a nice full day tour. Pick-up was conveniently at the cruise terminal. Also our short-term change to 3 pax was accommodated. Our guide was flexible to adjust the suggested program to the changing weather conditions and dropped us back on time. Thanks for this great experience.

On the road with Spencer - We picked up punctually at the agreed meeting point of Spencer and made very individual familiar with the island according to our personal wishes. Spencer excelled in German and is a very pleasant person and guide. For us it is certain if tours in Madeira, then with Spencer!!🤩

Madeira Inside Out definitely know and love Madeira - We booked full day private tour for two people, with a pick up from the cruise port
Communication was very good beforehand. The driver, Spencer, one of the business owners, was very prompt and had a chat with us before setting off to discuss where we wanted to go, time allowing. We asked for some places we were interested in and asked him to take us to the places he thought we would like or would fit in. We weren’t disappointed. Plenty of time for sightseeing, being welcomed warmly by many of the people Spencer knew, without any hard sell whatsoever! Good coffee, and fabulous, reasonably priced food. The price we paid for the tour was exceptional value as we visited many places throughout the day, took lots of great photos, and learnt loads about life in Madeira, the culture, and Spencer’s love for plants! He could even share graphical images of pumpkins 🎃 🤣. Will definitely use them on our next trip to Madeira and recommend to others when cruising or holidaying.

This team definitely earns and deserves its 5-star review. Highly recommended! - My girlfriend and I opted for the private tour from this company and were highly satisfied with our choice. Although there are less expensive options, this is the only agency offering a private, self-directed itinerary. That means the driver does not have to repeat everything in different languages. Or stop for lavatory breaks when you don’t wish to. You can stay as long or as short at a site as you desire. Avoid the tourist traps. Eat or not eat. It’s highly personalized with an applaudable degree of service. Our driver, Dinart, arrived at our hotel at 8am. The Land Rover 4x4, as it turns out, is essential for this tour (they have a spare one in the event of mechanical issues). We asked to see specific places on the island because my gf family descended from Madeira. Having a wealth of knowledge about all things Madeira, Dinart was extremely helpful with that endeavor. I suggest contacting him before your excursion so that he can customize it for you. We toured all sides of the island in 8 hours. Highlights were the lava pools at Porto Moniz. You’ll definitely want to swim here weather permitting. It’s just $3 to enter, and there are proper changing facilities. The rain forest is one of a kind. Free entry so do not miss that. Dinart arranged for a private wine tasting at Henriques & Henriques which saved us $$. He took us to a pastry shop where three of us couldn’t spend more than $9 no matter how much we tried! So I think the little extra we paid was certainly made up by Dinart’s local expertise. We returned to the hotel promptly at 4 pm. Despite being an auto tour, we logged 10,000 steps exploring all the sites.

Perfect Host - From the moment we met Dinarte as he picked us up from our cruise ship, each member of our group knew we had treat in stored for us. Although the excursion was a full day, Dinarte’s infectious enthusiasm never waned throughout the day. Born and raised in Madeira, Dinarte’s abundant historical facts, local stories and personal opinions were impressive and his recommendations for local cuisines were spot on. At the end of the tour, Dinarte took us to a local bakery where we were able to try pasteis de nata (an egg custard tart) and pao de queijo (a local cheese pastry). Kudos to Madeira Insideout for coming up with the memorable itinerary, and Thanks Dinarte for being the perfect host!!!
