A treat round every corner - We enjoyed this tour, excellently guided by Matt, enormously. He was very knowledgeable in not only wine and food but also in the history and fauna and flora of Funchal. Everywhere we visited was interesting with delicious food and drink. We loved that we went to places we would never have found by ourselves and came away feeling that we knew Funchal much better than before we did the tour. The others in our group were very friendly and good fun making the morning very memorable. We can thoroughly recommend this tour and huge thanks to Matt!

A sample of Funchal - Matt is a very knowledgeable guide, patient and kind. I'm probably speaking on behalf of a few other attendees when I say he needs to speak a bit louder while we are walking about the streets, as it became difficult to hear him , at times. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to visitors new to Funchal. Todd

Highly recommend this tour - Great way to see around Funchal whilst sampling and learning about the local foods. Roberto our guide was knowledgeable and friendly … making sure everything ran to plan. At least 3 places we’ll be going back to in order to purchase more food items. ! It was great to visit authentic Funchal establishments and not just tourist traps.

Fabulous day - something for everyone - Brilliant tour with a superb guide (shout out to Matt) - it was a leisurely paced stroll through the centre of Funchal with 8 different stops to sample either food or drink (or both) at various places. There is no pressure to buy anything and you see some places you would never see normally - we discovered an entire area of the city we would never have come across otherwise. One of our group has a severe lactose allergy but alternatives were provided for her everywhere (although we did notify the company in advance). Would highly recommend, although you will need a bit of breakfast first as although the tour starts at 10am, it's Madeira tasting!

A great way to start a vacation in Madeira - Went on a great tour with Matt. Doing this walk early on my trip was especially nice because it gave me a greater appreciation for Madeiran foods, drinks, and culture that was helpful throughout the rest of my trip. The order of the food and drinks was a bit backwards to me - starting with the wines, sweets, and poncha and then ending with the heartier meals. However it did line up with lunch time and the upside was that the tour ended right by the cable cars and transitioned flawlessly into taking a ride up to Monte, visiting the tropical garden, and then taking the toboggans part of the way back to Funchal. It was really easy to fill up a day and check off a lot of items on my to-do list.

A must do tour in Madeira - Wine Tours Madeira what a well organized fun experience. Thank you! And thank you Matt for being such a fun and knowledgeable guide. I totally recommend this tour. I was lucky enough to be in a small group with fun friendly well travelled people. So it was great to chat with them over beautiful wine and food. 10am start loved it. Who doesn’t love to day drink haha! 1st stop for us was Blandys where we tasted 2 fortified wines. Not my go to drink at home but lovely to try. My favorite stop of the day was for the still wine and finger food. You get a full glass of white wine with a couple of crostinis. Very delicious. I could have sat there all day. The Poncha stop loved it. What a drink!! Fruit tasting so tasty. You get so much food on this tour that at the cookie tasting I had to put them in my bag to bring home. I was full. My only suggestion would be for the last stop it was great to have a glass of local soda. It was very refreshing on a hot day but to pair it with an amazing Tuna didn’t work for me. I would have loved to have had the option to have a glass of wine with it. Please do this tour you won’t regret it!

Great food and wine tour in Funchal! - We booked this for the first day so we could also see the area. Our guide Roberto was absolutely fabulous. Friendly, funny, knowledgeable and very helpful, thank you we had a lovely time in your company! We found it to be interesting and tasty which led us to going back to some stores to purchase goods tasted and book an evening at Blandy’s wine lodge. The tour included Madiera and Madeiran wine, biscuit, chocolate, Poncha, local dish tasting at various restaurants and the market to sample local fruits. This was whilst learning the history of Funchal and the buildings that line the streets. Would definitely recommend whilst here in Funchal.

The art of eating and drinking well in Madeira - Very interesting, relaxed, pedagogical. Our Guide, Roberto, knew a little about the whole story and typical food and beverages. Morning that pleased children and graduates!
