Completely rebuilt in 2023 the Sea Safari is powered by two brand new 250hp engines, so you can expect to cover a greater distance than any other boat in Funchal. Double cushioned seats ensure a comfortable adventure with amazing 360° views while you enjoy the best opportunity to see marine wildlife.

Our team of spotters on land use powerful binoculars to find the dolphins & whales and then sends the boat directly to them. The boat sits low on the water so you feel very close to the whales and dolphins, but remember, it is wildlife, and the primary goal is to be respectful of their habitat.

Listen to informative commentary about the cetaceans of Madeira, as your captain and marine biologist guide make sure you have a great time whilst learning about the marine wildlife, marine environment and ecosystem.

With an impressive 500hp, our swift boat is able to navigate more extensive areas, offering a rare fusion of entertainment and exploration, while maintaining a sighting success record in Funchal of over 98%.

Utilising high-powered binoculars, our team on the shore diligently locates dolphins and whales and alerts our captain, positioning the boat for the highest probability of sightings.

For every encounter, our captain and team of marine biologists will deliver insightful interpretation of the specific species observed.

Please arrive at the Funchal marina 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. All guests must check in with our friendly staff at our kiosk for a boarding pass. In respect to all of our guests the boat leaves on time. If you miss the boat, you will be not be issued a refund.

Fantastic course of hours on the water - We saw 3 different types of dolphins and a turtle. The guides were very passionate and could clearly see how much they cared about the animals and the cleanliness of the sea. Brilliant trip, would recommend

Wonderful wildlife with people who care - The high speed rib guarantees a relatively small group compared to the catamarans and enables you to move quickly towards a sighting. You'd be unlucky not to see something but today we were privileged to see a group of pilot whales, a Blainville beaked whale, a loggerhead turtle, and one other whale. The guides bring expert knowledge but it was really special to hear Floriana's excitement at seeing the beaked whale socialising with the group of pilots, something she had never seen before in ten years of leading these tours. On these trips you don't just experience, you learn too, and there's a real and repeated concern that we are visitors to the animals' environment and we need to treat them with care.

10/10 tour, highly recommend. - Brilliant tour from start to finish, both the guide and captain where knowledgable and interactive. We saw bottlenose dolphins and also sperm whales. Very well ran, boat capacity is fine and doesn’t feel over crowded, for me the best option to see the marine life. 10/10

Knowledgable staff , great tour seeing whales and dolphins! - Fab tour from start to finish. We saw bottlenose dolphins and sperm whales all thanks to the expertise and efforts of Florin the marine biologist and the captain. Canon recommend enough, thanks for a great tour!

Spotting a sea turtle and a group of dolphins in the Atlantic Ocean! - Just amazing, we went on the eco catamaran , relaxing, and then.... a big sea turtle........a few moments later a group of dolphins !!! We followed them for a few minutes. Thanks at the crew!

Fabulous Trip! - This trip was the highlight of our holiday. It was amazing. The boat was lots of fun and we saw 3 different species of Whale/Dolphin. Our guide was a marine biologist called Natasha who was so lovely and friendly and shared lots of interesting facts and information with us. My kids aged 7 and 11 really enjoyed it and were well looked after by the crew. The captain and guide were incredibly knowledgeable and also responsible when it came to care for the sea and animals. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to another trip when we return to Funchal. Thank you so much!

Amazing dolphin watching - I would definitely recommend doing the sea safari as the boat is able to get so close to the dolphins we saw. The company are very good at knowing where to take you on the boat to see the dolphins and very respectful of them. We saw three different groups of dolphins and it was an amazing experience.

Florine ans ruben are awesome! - We had an amazing time! Ruben and florine were superb hosts😁 you sea dolphins from real close and florine will tell you all about the species and behaviour of the dolphin. Had an absolute blast, and an absolute highlight of our vacation.

Disappointing - Trip with Magic Dolphin Eco. Spotted dolphins very quickly, then the crew made no effort to spot other mammals. So definitely no whale watching. The explanation at the end was not intelligible because transferred without a micro. After spotting the dolphins it became a very boring trip back to Funchal. Was a big disappointment for us!
