Best tour guide - We cannot say enough good things about Miguel and his tours. We did both the east side and west side. Miguel took us places where none of the others go. Not the tourist traps. He showed us so many places that we never would have seen. He also stopped to let us walk the levada for a while. He is very knowledgeable of the island. His tours were definitely the highlight of our trip. We highly recommend using Miguel. Very friendly, safe driver and knows the island well.

Full jeep day with Miguel - We loved our jeep tour with Miguel not only thanks to the fantastic views and lunch he booked for us, but also because we learnt a lot about the fruits and plants we’ve seen. It was fascinating to hear from a local how people from Madeira live and run their lives, especially the households that live pretty remotely with no direct access to a road. Miguel is knowledgeable, fun and a pleasure to talk to. I would recommend Miguel’s tours to anyone who wants to have a fun and exciting experience. Thanks Miguel!

Best way to see glorious Madeira from sea to sky. - This is our 8th trip with Miguel. His Portuguese jeep gets places that almost all other vehicles cannot. In the midst of the pandemic a non-crowded open top jeep must be one of the safest ways to see the island. We were picked up from our hotel at 9am and then headed west. After the short journey in main roads out of Funchal, we headed pretty much vertically up to one of the high villages above Ponta do Sol for coffee & loo break. Then we headed off road to the eucalyptus forest until we reached about 1400m elevation. Miguel then dropped us off to do a short Levada walk with spectacular views to the south west. We drove north west along the main road on the plateau Paul da Serra with views to Rabaçal & the Levada. Then we headed back down towards the coast through Prazares & down to our lunch stop at Paul do Mar. We had one of the best Prego steak sandwiches with beer after a dip in the 24°C waters of The Atlantic. After lunch it was just a few steps down to the MakTub Rum Bar for passion fruit caipirinhas. As the new road along the coast was opened we were able to go for a shower in the ‘car wash’ waterfall. A great day out yet again with a great host in such uncertain times.
