Very great! - Fantastic viewpoint in nice weather. Was something unfortunate with the weather this day, cloudy and cloudy. Still became a very nice and memorable sunrise. So with better weather, it's definitely magical. Then went PR1, both this day and later. Would recommend it both a cloudy and sunny day, was incredibly great in every way. Pico Ruivo was closed due to rehabilitation after a forest fire. Received an offer to go PR3 instead, difficult to assess views and the like when the weather unfortunately also deteriorated along the way. But for us it became a little "uniform". Very nice and good driver. As well as good and quick communication with Elisabeth if things arose.

Beautiful view - Knowledgeful and nice driver. He had suggestions and recommendations for the holiday further. The trip itself we were a little unlucky with, it was very cloudy but we got sunrise in between. Further down there was a lot of rain and the sight was poor. It blew and a lot so it's okay to be well dressed. We traveled up again a few days later when it was sunny and cloudy and it was absolutely amazing. We see ourselves as lucky to have seen Pico Arieiro both in the mysterious skyscraper and completely cloudless and sunny.

Our driver Mike was... - Our driver Mike was really professional and friendly. Pick up and drop off on time. As PR1 was partially closed we did 1.2km out and back on this then 7km of PR3. Actually preferred PR3 as we felt like we had the path mostly to ourselves - a really tranquil, scenic walk.

Tolle Alternative - Great tour with lots of great views. Even if the Pico Ruivo - Pico Areeiro path is closed, you get great views through the tour and the hike downhill was also very nice. I had completed it within 2 1/2 and had enough time in the restaurant to drink.

Be in shape. - The main reason for the trip to Madeira was to hike to Pico Arieiro which was only partially open. It was a cool misty day which made photos not the best but I was still happy to have the opportunity to still do this hike. The second part where we hiked to Pico Ruivo which was quite gruelling. You are required to be at the meeting point at a certain time so it’s not a trek for everyone. Due to some wet areas I did manage to slip a few times and hurt my knee. lol. I’m an avid hiker back in Canada but this one challenged me.
